ARE YOU PREPARED?

I have to be honest, I'm not prepared. I know I should be. I've read dozens of articles on emergency preparedness. I've gone to a seminar or two on it also. So why haven't I started pulling an emergency kit together incase of a natural disaster? My guess is laziness, or thinking it's not going to happen to me. A lot of us probably think that way and hence we are not prepared.

Now that I'm taking the time to share this Emergency Preparedness Tip Sheet with you, I will start working on this. First thing will be pulling together the valuable documents so they are accessible. They don't necessarily have to be a hard copy, I'm guessing I can make an electronic folder and share it with my family members who live in different areas than me. That should be an easy first start, and I can work my way down the list from there.

A tip I learned in one of the seminars was when you go to bed at night, have next to your bed a pair of slippers or shoes that have a hard sole, so incase there's a disaster in the middle of the night, a good pair of shoes are next to your bed for you to slip on quickly.

How many of you have already pulled together an emergency kit? How many of you are going to start on it now that you've read this? Don't wait till it's too late. Spend an hour on this and you will be surprised how much more prepared you are.
