This year I have so much to be thankful for!
First things first, I am so proud and happy to announce the unveiling of my new campaign website ! Visit www.electmcshane.com and let me know what you think! We still have a few tweaks to adjust, but feedback is always appreciated.

As the holiday season approaches, it's that time of the year where we often reflect on what we are grateful for in life. Like many of you I am most thankful for my family and friends. Throughout this campaign my loving wife, beautiful children, and supportive friends have been there every step of the way! Thank you to all who have supported my family and I as we continue in the race. Support Steve today!

The last month has been busy and full of activities! From city trick-or-treating, to park clean-ups to lots of Veterans Day activities. Veterans Day is much more then just a national holiday, and I wanted to highlight the importance of this holiday. Monterey County has a long history with the military. It is important to recognize our country's heroes, and thank them for their service to our country and this community. I hope you were able to participate in some of this past weekend's services. I am proud to have the support of our district 4 leaders in the veterans community ; Jack Stewart, Sid Williams, Tony Virrueta, John Gay, Ken Steen Jr, Al Glover, and James Bogan. Endorse Steve here.

Thank you all for the support and thank you to all our veterans for your service,
Steve
This campaign is grassroots. That means this campaign is built on the support of community members like you! We are working on building up our list of unique donors to show District 4 that this campaign represents the people. If you have not had the chance to donate yet, please  donate $3 today   and share with  3 of your friends  to donate $3 as well! Our goal is to reach  300 unique donors ! Thank you for all your support thus far and for believing in me to represent you the best that I can.

Sand City Indigenous Peoples of Monterey County
Last month I joined a gathering in Sand City to celebrate and honor indigenous people in Monterey County. This celebration featured a potluck and award ceremony to observe and commemorate the shared history and culture of Native Americans. I am so proud to be able to celebrate the diverse history of Monterey County!
Marina Community Discussion
We had a great community discussion in Marina last month. The overall message of our meeting was to have a mindful switch to a "yes we can" attitude, and have clear leadership when it comes to bringing more career type jobs to Marina. As usual, housing plays a major role in who is able to work in Marina, and that's why I am ready to be an advocate for Marina as County Supervisor!
Citywide Neighborhood Cleanup
Earlier last month, the trash hauler in Salinas, Republic Services, hosted a citywide neighborhood cleanup effort with Mayor Joe Gunter . Residents were encouraged to take waste and recyclables to the new Madison Lane transfer station that Republic Services recently bought and has been operating. The event was an astounding success with hundreds of residents bringing items to recycle and dispose of! Thank you to everyone who participated!
Downtown Salinas Trick or Treat
Merchants and community members in downtown Salinas offered a free children's trick or treat event hosted in shops to kick of the Halloween festivities! This annual event celebrated 11 years this year, and is an amazing tradition to support! More than 2,000 people showed for one of the most successful events ever!
Honoring Our Veterans
Veterans Day parade
This years Veterans Day parade was an absolute success! I had a great time announcing all the veterans in their cars, and all the floats with Cindy Quinlan this year!

I am humbled to be a part of this wonderful tradition, and I am forever grateful for our veterans.
Thank you to all that help put this honorable event together every year!
Veterans Breakfast
Our veterans pancake breakfast in Marina was absolutely great! The Monterey County veteran community is up against many unique challenges, and I felt privileged to be able to hear in depth and discuss with our local veterans.
I would also like to thank Sid Williams and Steve Emerson for helping me put this special breakfast together.
Seaside Veterans Ceremony
On Veterans Day, I also attended a joint Veterans Day celebration for the city of Seaside with the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 8679 & American Legion post 591. The event was full of powerful speeches and about a hundred people attended this special event.

I am proud of our veterans and all they have sacrificed for our great nation.
