Just Released: COMSAE Enhancements

On April 2, the NBOME increased the number of COMSAE Phase 1 forms available to students and COMs. There are three new COM forms and an increase from one to four forms for student purchase. Current COMSAE Phase 2 forms have been refreshed to ensure content is current.

C3DO Phase 2 Administrations Completed; Phase 3 Underway at COMs

Administrations for Phase 2 of the Core Competency Capstone for DOs (C3DO) pilots at campuses of schools and colleges of osteopathic medicine (COMs) officially wrapped up in March. Phase 3 administrations have begun and continue through the year.

Celebrating the Life of Esteemed Colleague and Friend John E. Thornburg, DO, PhD

Thornburg served the NBOME for five decades, including as a Board Chair from 2009-2011, and was a mentor, role model, and dear friend to so many at the NBOME and in the osteopathic community.

Som received the 2024 Outstanding Physician Award by the Osteopathic Founders Foundation, bestowed annually to an extraordinary osteopathic physician.

DO Named as Physician to the President

Capt. Sean Barbabella, DO, is a decorated Navy physician who will serve as physician to the U.S. President. He is the third osteopathic physician in a row to serve in this role.
