NRMP Establishes Standardized Applicant Placement Rate Metrics for the Main Residency Match® and SOAP®


The National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) recently published new reporting on the 2023 Applicant Placement Rate in the Main Residency Match and Supplemental and Acceptance Program. This data illustrated the amazing overall placement rate of DO seniors at 98.7 percent, reflecting the value that resident programs place in DO applicants.

AOA responds to "The View" regarding misleading comments


After a co-host on The View mischaracterized DOs, the osteopathic community came together to defend the profession, and to call for clarification and an apology. The American Osteopathic Association called the comments "misleading," and responded directly to the

show's producers.

2023 Recipients of the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award


National Faculty members Danielle Cooley, DO, and Binh Phung, DO, MHA, MPH, recently received the 2023 Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. This award is presented to a graduating medical student and faculty member pair from participating medical schools who exemplify humanism in patient care, including outstanding compassion in the delivery of care; respect for patients, their families, and healthcare colleagues; and demonstrated clinical excellence.
