TEACHING IS READY TO LISTEN
OCTOBER 2019 MONTHLY LETTER

Since God placed men on earth, every day, a choice must be made. Men must choose to obey God or not. Each person has to make a choice on their own, and it can result in good or bad consequences.

Let’s start with the first man, Adam.

Genesis 2:16-17
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

We all know what happened after that, Adam made a choice contrary to the will of God. We call it disobedience, a negative impact against man kind and on the earth.

What we see today is the result of the choice that Adam made.

Life is full of choices, but the good thing is that God is always leading His people to make the right one. He never chooses for us, since he has already given us the power of choice!

Deuteronomy 30:15-19
15 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. 17 But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, 18 I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. 19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

God told the people to choose life, to walk in His ways (obedience to His will). The result is blessings. But when we read the old testament, we see that the people made the choice to follow their own ways, that brought hardships. We must understand, when we make a choice, we choose the consequence too!

Proverbs 8:10-11
10 Receive my instruction, and not silver,
And knowledge rather than choice gold;
11 For wisdom is better than rubies,
And all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.

Some prefer to choose silver, gold rubies than choose the instructions of Knowledge and Wisdom of God.

Adam chose to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and he disregarded the instructions of God.

Think about the time you made a choice that was against the will of God for you, was it worth it?

John 15:16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

Jesus chose us, but every day we must make a choice to follow him and bear the fruit of that fellowship that we have with Him.

Luke 10:42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Mary had a choice to make, she chose to sit at Jesus’ feet and hear His word. She was commended for choosing the Lord’s presence. This is better than any work we can do for Him.

Ephesians 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.

He chose us. Now, it is our choice to continue in the path of Holiness for Him and live for His Glory!

God has given us the power of choice, let us use it according to His will and for His Glory! Amen
