Beloved Adura,
Power is the ability to do work. Apostle Paul had this enormous power of God at work in his life regardless of being locked and in chains, the gospel of Christ was still preached to the Gentiles through the letters he wrote Acts 28:16-17. The power at work in us can not be held captive no matter what situation we find ourselves.
In Mark 16:17-18, the bible lists a lot of things the power of God in us can do if we are willing to activate and make it work:
- Drive out demons;
- Speak in unknown tongues;
- Pick up snakes;
- Drink poisonous substance;
- Place hands on the sick.
The question is how much of use are we putting this power to? Remember, it is ours for the taking - exceedingly, abundantly, far more than we could ever imagine, guess, or request in our wildest dreams, Ephesians 3:20(MSG).
What are the powers that we have access to?
- The power of the word: "And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?" Mark 12:24(KJV). Without a working knowledge of the scriptures, we can not pray right neither can we unravel the power of God available to us.
- The power of the gospel: “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18(KJV). Telling people about the gospel of Christ helps us to tell them about this power that we have.
- The power of prayer: James 5:16-18, Elisha exercised the power of prayer when he prayed that there will be no rain for 3 years and then prayed again and the heaven gave rain.
- The power of blood of Jesus: There is tremendous power in the blood of Jesus and it will never fail. That blood is always speaking better things for us, Hebrews 12:24.
As we put this power to work in our daily lives, never forget to ascribe the glory back to God, my glory will I not share says the Lord Isaiah 42:8.
THINK TANK: How can we slow down on the busyness of our daily lives and focus more on the power of God at work in us?
PRAYER POINT:
Heavenly Father, please give us the grace to pay the price to activate the deposit of your power in us, so that we can show to our world that you are the only true and living God in Jesus name, Amen.
