A. THE CHARACTER & NATURE OF GOD
Let us start off in our quest for answers to these questions by turning to the most reliable, most investigated, and most researched book in the world, The Holy Bible. As we together turn its pages let us see for ourselves the pattern and understanding of the nature of GOD and how He speaks down through the eons of time.
In the Old Testament, in the book of Judges we find GOD repeatedly warning His people of the consequence of sin, idolatry and rebellion against His laws. If they turned away from Him, they would be given into the hands of their enemies. Their enemies would be permitted, indeed empowered by GOD to conquer and rule over their nation. We find this exact same punishment as a theme in numerous books in the Bible. Put simply, “If you turn your back on me, I will also turn My Back on you and deliver you into the hands of your enemies”.
We find this principle continuing in the New Testament where Paul, the apostle says that if people do not listen to Him but break His laws, He will abandon them to their own devices.
18 “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a corrupt mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. (Romans chapter 2)
B. THE UK, A NATION AND PEOPLE WHO HAVE A COVENANT WITH GOD
Throughout their history, the people of the British Isles have been chosen by GOD as a people used by Him to accomplish special purposes.
i. The building of a kingdom of kings, priests and a commonwealth of nations
ii. The propagation of Christianity throughout the world
iii. A nation whose morality has been based on His laws and His commandments as in the 10 commandments and common decency

C. THE UK, A NATION AND PEOPLE WHO HAVE ABANDONED THEIR GOD
20 “Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter.” Isaiah chapter 5
It is very clear to all and sundry that over the last 40plus years, the British people have abandoned their devotion and loyalty to GOD. This is clearly seen in the abrogation of laws contrary to His will and nature. Examples are same sex ‘marriages’, indoctrination of children in abhorrent practices, murder of the unborn child to name a few.
D. HOW DOES GOD REACT TO A PEOPLE WHO ABANDON THEIR COVENANT TO HIM?
8 “Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of a hundred and ten. 9 And they buried him in the land of his inheritance, at Timnath Heres in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash.
10 After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Israel. 11 Then the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord and served the Baals. 12 They forsook the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt. They followed and worshiped various gods of the peoples around them. They aroused the Lord’s anger 13 because they forsook him and served Baal and the Ashtoreths. 14 In his anger against Israel the Lord gave them into the hands of raiders who plundered them. He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, whom they were no longer able to resist. 15 Whenever Israel went out to fight, the hand of the Lord was against them to defeat them, just as he had sworn to them. They were in great distress.
2 Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and because they did this evil the Lord gave Eglon king of Moab power over Israel. 13 Getting the Ammonites and Amalekites to join him, Eglon came and attacked Israel, and they took possession of the City of Palms. 14 The Israelites were subject to Eglon king of Moab for eighteen years.
15 Again the Israelites cried out to the Lord, and he gave them a deliverer—Ehud, a left-handed man, the son of Gera the Benjamite. The Israelites sent him with tribute to Eglon king of Moab.

He disempowers them, He draws back from them, He abandons them to their enemies and to the mercy of other gods. This is done in the hope that they will realise what is going on, see how they have fallen from grace and repent. Repent means to have a change of heart and mind and to turn from one’s own self-centred, self-gratifying ways back to GOD’s laws and GOD’s ways.
SO, WHAT IS GOD SAYING IN ALL THIS TURMOIL?
The reason Liz Truss made it to the seat of Prime Minister is that in normal circumstances she was GOD’s natural choice as PM. In normal circumstances she would have received the backing of GOD Almighty by GOD releasing His power, wisdom, influence and favour to empower and enable her to rule effectively. In normal circumstance she would have received the blessing and favour of The Church in all her decisions, especially including the making of biblically sound decisions like the move of the British embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. These however are not normal circumstances. We are in a time where we are under the wrath and judgement of our GOD, He is not happy with us as a people as we have abandoned His ways and His laws.
The fact that a non-indigene in the person of the Chancellor of the Exchequer gave her flawed counsel on running the nation which was flawed was again an indication from GOD of the failure of a nation and a people to seek Him. If they fail to seek Him, He would in turn give them up to foolish counsel. The so called ‘arm of flesh’ will fail.
The withdrawal of the favour and blessing of GOD from her short rule is INTENDED AS A SIGN TO THE NATION THAT HE IS NOT HAPPY WITH THE INDIGENOUS BRITISH PEOPLE! They have abandoned their GOD and He was abandoning them.
The fact that Rishi Sunak was elected leader of the ruling party on the day of an annual Hindu festival was GOD saying to the indigenous British people, ‘Because you have abandoned Me, I will also abandon you to other gods – (In the hope that you will see where your foolishness has taken you and repent and turn back to Me!)’
Does it matter that Hindu gods find a place of sanctuary in the seat of power? UNEQUIVOCALLY!! ABSOLUTELY!! It is appalling and unthinkable for the servant nation once used by GOD to spread the gospel throughout the known world to now bow to foreign idols!! IT IS AN ABSOLUTE SHAME AND DISGRACE - a stripping away of sustaining and preserving grace! As my friend and author Wale Babatunde aptly puts it in the title of his prophetic writing to the UK, ‘Great Britain has fallen!’. To view the erection of an altar of demons in 10 Downing Street with a gentle wave of the hand and a sweet, ‘oh GOD loves everyone and it doesn’t matter, it is better to have Sunak than a nominal Christian’ is utter foolishness, gross spiritual naivety and downright stupidity!
GOD is shaking the nation and calling our attention to His intense displeasure over the state of our nation!
