NETC's 4th Annual Golf Tournament Raises $9k for Trailblazer Athletics

Sunshine, sportsmanship, and community support were all present at Northeastern Technical College's 4th Annual NETC Trailblazer Fundraiser Golf Tournament, held April 5th at the Marlboro Golf and Recreation Complex. With 57 players across 19 3-person teams, the tournament drew a great turnout, raising over $9,000 which directly benefits the Athletic Programs at the college.

The players teed off for a good cause, with teams split into two competitive flights and cash prizes awarded to the top two in each. In Flight A, the duo of Matt Huestess and Nick Fidler pulled off an incredible win as a two-man team, shooting a 55 (-15) to secure 1st place. Right behind them was the skilled trio of Stephen Rogers, Lee Carmichael, and Chris Flowers, finishing just one stroke back at 56 (-14).

Flight B saw Tyler Nolan, Zach Odom, and Spencer Odom take the top spot with a strong 63 (-7), while Melvin Warren, Michael Warren, and Chris Benjamin clinched 2nd place at 64 (-6), rounding out a day of fierce but friendly competition.

The event's success wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of sponsors. NETC extends a heartfelt thank-you to Gold Sponsors: NETC Foundation and DOMTAR, and Silver Sponsor: Scotland Memorial Hospital. Additional appreciation goes out to Jim’s Wash & Dry, MPD, Chesterfield County Economic Development, Sandhill Telephone Cooperative, Jennings Law Office, Sully Blair State Farm, Duke Energy, and Dailihana Alfonseca - “The Estephans” for their sponsorship.

A special shoutout goes to the tournament hole sponsors: Sully Blair State Farm, Roger & Michelle Mack, Seales Pest Control, In Memory of Brick Hyduke, McNiel Enterprises Inc. - “The Skye”, Jennings Law Office, Carolina Bank, and Pepsi-Bennettsville.

The NETC Trailblazer Golf Tournament has grown each year, not just in participation, but in the spirit of community it fosters. With all proceeds going toward strengthening NETC’s athletic programming, the tournament is a powerful example of how sport and support go hand in hand.

Plans are already in motion for the 5th annual event—so mark your calendars, golfers. You won’t want to miss it.

Thank You For Voicing Your Opinion!

The Great Colleges to Work For® survey has closed, and we thank those of you who took the time to complete the survey! We appreciate you taking the time to share your views and opinions.

The Great Colleges to Work For study is designed to gather benchmarking data within higher education and to recognize institutions that have built great workplaces. An invitation to take this survey was distributed to a random selection of our employees to participate.

Participation in the survey was completely voluntary and the institution will not be able to identify the results of individuals. The survey results play a significant factor in determining which institutions are recognized in the Great Colleges program.

ModernThink will share our institution’s results from the survey with our institution later in the summer. Whether or not our institution is recognized, we can learn from the feedback and make improvements for our future.

Thank you in advance for your participation. Please contact Krysten Hyduke, or visit www. GreatCollegesProgram.com, if you have any questions.
