Meet Trent: A Rising Star in Competitive Esports and a Proud NETC ESports Summer Camp Participant
Trent Crawford, a 15-year-old avid gamer, is no stranger to the world of competitive esports. Now entering his third year attending the NETC East Sports Summer Camp, Trent shared his journey and experiences with us, revealing how the camp and gaming have shaped his life.
A Mom’s Invitation and a Gamer’s Challenge
Trent’s introduction to the camp came from a simple question from his mom. “One day, my mom asked me if I wanted to go because I like to play video games a lot. I was like, okay, I’ll try it out.” That first visit turned into a lasting passion as Trent recalls dominating in Fortnite against his friends and quickly finding a community of like-minded gamers.
Years of Growth and Competitive Success
Although only 15, Trent has been involved in competitive gaming since he was 13, which is the minimum age required to enter tournaments. Recently, he and two friends clinched victory in a Diamond-ranked tournament. “In our first game, it was like 5-0, and then we just kept going from there,” Trent says. Winning was fun, but the experience of bonding with his teammates meant just as much.
The Impact of NETC East Sports Summer Camp
Trent credits the camp and its instructors for helping him improve his skills. “I just try my best with the games I love, and coming here has definitely made me a better player, especially at Fortnite. They have some really good players here, so it pushes me to get better.”
