Last Tuesday, we held our biggest-ever (and first!) Voter Registration Day Rally & Drive! (Watch that must-see event HERE!) Our exuberant audience got fired up by our inspiring partners, including Sister District, Run for Something, The Union, DemCast, Grassroots Democrats HQ, Democrats Abroad, New Blue USA and Georgia NOW. And we announced that 2023 is officially Voter Registration Year. And so is 2024. And every year from now on!

We met amazing candidates from crucial battlegrounds Virginia and Ohio, including trailblazing Virginia Delegate Danica Roem, who floored us with her record of legislation, having 41 bills passed into law, solving transportation issues across the state, and helping expand healthcare to over 700,000 more Virginians.

After the rally, we dove right in to registering more new Democrats. Because that is the secret to winning in all six states this November.

And with voter registration deadlines starting to hit in the next two weeks, we need your help with all of these in the six major 2023 election states: MS, KY, OH, NJ, LA and VA!

EMAIL WORKS: YOUR HALF-CENT COULD MINT A NEW SWING STATE DEMOCRAT!

You might require a penny for your thoughts, but just half a penny buys a supremely effective voter registration tool: an email! We’ve seen it work: for 2022, Field Team 6 reached out to 5 million unregistered, likely Democrats via phone, text, postcard, in-person and, yes, email! More than one in three of them registered as Democrats or progressive independent voters. That’s 1,821,784 new voters we helped add to the rolls in swing states!

And guess which digital outreach was the cheapest? Email! At just half a penny per.

We still have email addresses for over 2.3 million people we couldn't afford to reach out to in the 2022 cycle. $50 sends 10,000 emails! And if one in three of those 2.3 million people register to vote, that's 766,000+ new Democrats or progressive independent voters! Enough to send Trumpers packing in '23 and '24!

ABBONDANZA!! HELPING REGISTER DEMOCRATS IN ROME!

In August, Kelly Feenan, National Secretary for Democrats Abroad, Italy contacted our Voter Drive Coach Jo Ann Bollen for guidance in registering American nationals as Democrats on college campuses in Rome. Kelly’s goal: to build out their volunteer infrastructure so that in 2024 they are on at least 50% of campuses across Italy.

Taking the time difference into account, Jo Ann scheduled her first international Zoom to let Kelly in on all our tips and tricks of college registration!

Jo pointed out that you can spark conversations with a values-based question that is not overtly partisan, like "Can you help me save the world from climate catastrophe?" or "Can you help me fight for women's reproductive freedom?" or even “Can you help me fight to end predatory student loans?" And Kelly put these methods to use right away! 

Last week her volunteers were at two universities, and this week another two, with another one likely next week. And Kelly promises to keep us updated. Thanks to Democrats Abroad and our own incredible Voter Drive Coach Jo Ann, we are now saving the world… from all over the world!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30: BALLOTS OVER BROADWAY 5!

Places, everyone! We're just over a week away from the 5th installment of Field Team 6's most showtastical event of the calendar year, BALLOTS OVER BROADWAY!

This show is for everyone, whether you've never even set foot in a theatre, or if you can rattle off exactly how many minutes are in a year, in song, without even thinking. There is nothing else like Ballots Over Broadway; it's a one-of-a-kind live variety show including standup, tunes for every appetite, and the chance to see amazing performers so close, you'd think you had dance floor tickets to Here Lies Love. Hosted by triple threat singer-comedian-actor Chris Mann, with beyond-talented Musical Director Doug Peck, the show features an incredible lineup of singers and stars from stage and screen, including Rory O'Malley (Hamilton), Jenni Barber (Wicked), and Kate Micucci (Garfunkel and Oates).
