This Sunday afternoon, we celebrate the City of Mobile's diverse musical heritage with a program of music in the form of a mass of celebration.  You will hear music that is drawn both from the traditional texts of the mass and from diverse sacred and secular sources.  Our goal is to celebrate the diversity of our city's musical roots as well as to offer a reflection on spirituality in music as expressed in a 21st century context.  We hope you will join us for this Mass for Mobile as we celebrate our city-joyful, spectacular Mobile!

We are pleased that in the past year we've had more and more members express an interest in forming and participating in supper clubs.  What a great way to get to know each other better!  We anticipate the ability to form several groups which should allow some variety of options: different days of the week, times of day, home dinners or even some that might want to gather at restaurants.
Following the concert please join us for a brief wine and cheese informational and sign-up meeting in the Huger Meeting Room.  We will distribute questionnaires for you to indicate your interests.  If you cannot attend but would like to participate, please contact Meg Mattei at  mat342@aol.com  and she will get you a form.  Our goal is to be able to begin the supper clubs in February!  See you this afternoon.

D onations for  A ltar and  F ont  F lowers
Altar and Font flowers may be designated to commemorate a special day such as the anniversary of a birth, a baptism, a marriage, a death, or expression of thanksgiving.  When flowers are given, a special prayer is offered and the designation is listed in the cathedral prayers in the Sunday worship bulletin.
If you are interested in dedicating flowers for the altar or the font, please contact the church office or email Lara Sherer (lara@sherer.com) with the date and the designation.  The suggested donation for both altar and font flowers are $75 each.  If more than one designation is received for a Sunday, any additional money is placed in the general flower fund to purchase flowers for Sundays without designations.  There are no designations noted for Sunday, February 23.
To give an offering for flowers for use during the Convention, and in celebration of fifty years of diocesan life together, please make a donation of at least $50. Make checks payable to Christ Church Cathedral with the memorandum: Convention Flowers.  Please respond by February 3 in order to make the bulletin.

It is never too late to join the Good Book Club in reading the Gospel of John.   Each day, from Epiphany on January 6 through Mardi Gras Day, February 25, we will read a passage from this compelling gospel.  Today's reading is John 7:1-24.  There are an array of resources to help you on the journey. The first step is easy: Open your Bible and start reading.  To sign up for Good Book Club resources go to:  https://www.goodbookclub.org/ .

S tewardship  2020
One of the Christ Church Cathedral Goals for 2022 states that, "In the past year, 100% of the membership of Christ Church Cathedral has made a pledge towards the annual budget."  For 2020 we have 163 pledging families.   We are now asking the 151 families who do not currently pledge to please make a pledge.  A pledge of $25 per month, for an annual pledge of $300, could be a place to begin this Christian discipline.  Eighty nine percent of our budget is made possible by annual pledges. Your new pledges would be used to make possible all our worship services, outreach, ministry to families, children and youth, Bible studies, classes, and pastoral care.  To make your pledge, please contact Brenda Stanton at 251-438-1822, or return a pledge card found on the ministry table.
2019 Charitable Gifts statements have been mailed.  Please let Brenda know if you did not receive yours.
