Ballroom Dancers circa 1940 - B & W

Glen Echo Park's Spanish-style ballroom was built in 1933, and several of
the biggest names from the "Big Band" era have played at the park, including Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra in 1954. And, of course, thousands have enjoyed dancing in the ballroom over the decades. In recent years, over 60,000 dancers flock to the park's dances each year. Today, the Glen Echo Park Partnership hosts an extensive social dance program, with more than 350 dances presented each year in the park's three dance venues: the Spanish Ballroom, the Bumper Car Pavilion, and the Ballroom Annex.

Heritage Days at Glen Echo Park is part of Montgomery County Heritage Days,
which is sponsored by the Heritage Tourism Alliance of Montgomery County.

Brown Bag is back for another season at the Ballroom Cafe. It's the  perfect place to purchase a lunch or snack on Heritage Days weekend. For more information, including hours of operation, visit our Ballroom Cafe page.
