Hi Jenni,

Thanks for joining us last weekend for Tribal Voices: A Native American Heritage Celebration! We had such a wonderful time coming together as a community to honor the history and culture of Native Americans. Video highlights from the event will be posted in a few weeks on our Land Acknowledgement page and shared in a weekly e-newsletter.

This week, celebrate local artists by attending an opening reception or an artist talk, and keep your body moving with a dance or a hike in the beautiful fall weather!

We have a full week of events & activities in the galleries! On Thursday, Photoworks exhibiting artist Carolina Zumaran-Jones presents a virtual Artist Talk. This weekend is also the last opportunity to catch Zumaran-Jones' exhibition, Learning to See - Beyond the Surface, closing Sunday. On Saturday morning, Art Clinic Online presents a virtual Artist Discussion with Dawn Whitmore, a Washington, DC based interdisciplinary artist. Join us Saturday evening for an Opening Reception of new work by Yellow Barn Studio Founder & Director Walt Bartman in the Yellow Barn Gallery, open this weekend only. Bartman will also present an Artist Talk on Sunday afternoon.

Members of the Friends of the Yellow Barn Studio are invited to exhibit their artwork in the 30th Annual Juried Members Show. Registration closes this Friday! Selected juried-in works will be available for multiple prize awards and will be exhibited at the Yellow Barn Gallery for three weekends in December and in a virtual gallery for one year.

Learn about the history of the Park and surrounding area while getting your steps in! Join a Park Ranger this Saturday morning for a guided circuit hike (four miles) through Glen Echo Park, along the C&O Canal National Historical Park and MacArthur Boulevard to Clara Barton National Historic Site. The hike will start at the Dentzel Carousel at 9:30am on Saturday, November 9. Email kevin_patti@nps.gov to register for this free program!

Dance Fit is back with a new series of classes! Join us each Saturday in November for a Shake Your Soul class with Katy Baytosh. Back by popular demand, Shake Your Soul is a dynamic movement practice that energizes your body, relaxes your nervous system, and awakens your soul through a dance repertoire set to world music. No pre-registration required.

Read on for more of this week's happenings, including upcoming classes. We can't wait to see you at the Park soon, and as always, we appreciate your support!
