February is here!
Love is in the air and we are so excited to celebrate all of its forms this month. Maybe you'll find that special someone on one of our dance floors at a social dance, or create a delightfully personal Valentine's day gift through one of this month's art classes. Beyond love for those closest to us, we enter Black History Month with a love for humanity and the one-of-a-kind creativity diverse groups inspire.
Speaking of classes, registration for Spring and Summer classes and camps begins this Wednesday at 10am! Browse the catalog now so you'll be ready Wednesday morning to nab a spot in your top choice classes before they fill up.
We're eager to share programming that aligns with Black History Month in the coming weeks; take a look at what we have planned, plus information on Black visual artists who have exhibited at the Park in the past. You can also read about the fascinating way our 103-year-old Dentzel Carousel played a central role in the civil rights story of the Washington, DC area.
Saturday at 10:30am, hop onto Zoom for this weekend's Art Clinic Online with painter, illustrator, and art professor Nicole M. Santiago, a 2019 Bethesda Painting Awards winner. Did you miss last week's Plein Air Forum? All previous ACO recordings are available on YouTube.
Don't miss the opening reception for Photoworks' newest show this Sunday, February 11 at 2pm! Building a Mixed Race Community features photographs and text by photojournalist Marvin Tupper Jones telling the stories of more than 30 individuals between the years of 1851 - 1973.
Read on for more of this week's happenings, including upcoming classes. We can't wait to see you at the Park soon, and as always, we appreciate your support!
