Greetings!

It's officially spooky week! From costume social dances to family-friendly fall activities, there's something for everyone this Halloween.

Join us on Saturday for Fall Frolic, the Park's Halloween family fun celebration! Come dressed in a costume and go Trick-or-Treating at our resident art studios and galleries. Activities include Halloween crafts and games, a costume contest, a festive fall photo-op (say that 10 times!), and a costume parade. We'll have some Halloween music provided by our very own Washington Conservatory of Music (WCM)'s Suzuki students and Washington Conservatory Orchestra. WCM will also host an Open House, including a FREE movement and music workshop. Adults and teens are invited to drop-in to a Blown Glass Pumpkin Workshop ($100, at the door) with Glen Echo Glassworks, to create their own pumpkins!

The Halloween fun continues with evening social dances! Join us in your favorite costume for Gottaswing's Halloween Hop Swing Dance with KING TEDDY or a Halloween West Coast Swing Dance with Late Night Early.

Beyond our Halloween night dances, we're having a frightfully fun time dancing all week long! Sunday afternoon brings a Waltz Dance with Waltz Time, featuring live music by Karen Collins & the Backroads Band. Dance for PD® (Dance for Parkinson's Disease) continues, with free classes meeting each Wednesday in the Arcade Building. DanceFit Saturday morning drop-in classes are underway with two types of dance and two time options, including DanceFit: Shake Your Soul and our final DanceFit: Folk Dances of India class.

We've got two special Partnership-presented dances this week! In addition to Sunday's Waltz Dance, Karen Collins & the Backroads Band join us Friday evening for a Honky Tonk Dance in the Bumper Car Pavilion. One of the DC area's top honky-tonk groups, the band plays real Classic Country & Rockabilly from the 1940s -1970s. A free beginner lesson in two-step will be included with admission, led by Sharon Schiliro and Michael Hart of Dancing by the Bayou. Sunday afternoon, swing your partner at a Bumper Car Squares dance! Let's Do-Si-Do into the Ballroom Back Room for some high-energy, foot-stomping tunes from East of Exxon, with calling and an introductory lesson by McEver Dugan.

It sure would be spooky to miss the three wonderful exhibitions in our Partnership Galleries! Asia Anderson & Lizzie Brown's Inherited Threads in the Park View Gallery closes Saturday. Closing Sunday is Michèle Colburn: The Contours of Remembrance in the Stone Tower Gallery, and the Popcorn Gallery's, The Deconstructed Cathedral: A Celebration of Cathedral Arts, curated and presented by the Sculpture Studio at Glen Echo Park.

This weekend also brings a new show by Evan Goldman to the Yellow Barn Gallery, open Saturday and Sunday only. Plus, don't forget to stop by Glen Echo Pottery's Seconds Sale, Saturday during Fall Frolic!

J. Jordan Bruns, resident artist in the Stone Tower Studio, presents Image Building a solo show OFFSITE at Marymount University's Cody Gallery through January 16. Join Jordan this Thursday for an artist’s talk (also OFFSITE) in the Ballston Center Auditorium followed by a reception at the gallery.

Fall children's theater productions are in their final week of performances! Helen Hayes nominated Jennie the Cat: A Halloween Adventure is playing at the Puppet Co., with cuddly puppets, audience interaction, and all original music. Adventure Theatre MTC's Beatrice Likes the Dark is an imaginative production that blends magic, music, shadow play, and heartfelt storytelling in a celebration of curiosity, courage, and connection.

For adult puppet theater fans, we've got a spooky show for you! Daisy O’Danny’s

Spooky Hootenanny at the Puppet Co. is your chance to don the attire you've been looking for a reason to wear, grab a puppet, and enjoy an evening singalong.

Read on for more details about these events plus other happenings this week, including upcoming classes, exhibitions, and social dances. We can't wait to see you at the Park soon, and as always, we appreciate your support!
