Greetings!
Music & dance, art galleries, children's theater, and more! 🕸️ With Halloween just around the corner, we can't wait to fill you in on what's new at the Park this week.
Dust off your dancing shoes! This week brings the annual Harvest Moon Viennese Waltz Ball with DanceSport Endurance to the historic Spanish Ballroom. Plus, a Sunday-afternoon Contra Dance with Dancing Planet and a Ballroom Dance with Ballroom Time. Dance for PD® (Dance for Parkinson's Disease) continues, with free classes meeting each Wednesday in the Arcade Building. DanceFit Saturday morning drop-in classes are underway with two types of dance and two time options, including DanceFit: Shake Your Soul and DanceFit: Folk Dances of India.
Enjoy live music at the 4P's DC Reunion Concert with The Sean Fleming Band, Friday night in the Bumper Car Pavilion! Co-presented by The Irish Inn and the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts & Culture, enjoy a night of Irish music and more, with beer and wine available for purchase onsite.
Saturday afternoon in the Spanish Ballroom, DC Casineros Dance Company leads dance lessons and a social dance rooted in AfroCuban, Afro-Caribbean, and French/English contra dances. If you already love contra and/or square dancing to a caller, this style will feel like home to you. Families are encouraged to come, and a special lesson for families is offered as an option. Discounted tickets for kids & teens available at the door!
In the Yellow Barn Gallery, visit Recent Work, a weekend exhibition by artist and instructor Ken Conley, open Saturday and Sunday only. A reception will be held Saturday evening, and an artist talk will take place Sunday afternoon. You can also connect with your local arts community by tuning into an online ACO Artist Discussion with Annette Fortt. Fortt pursued a combined career as an artist and art teacher for 30 years, teaching art in grades K–12, in after-school and adult-education programs, and as an artist-in-residence in both an elementary school and a local prison.
Read on for more details about these events plus other happenings this week, including upcoming classes, exhibitions, and social dances. We can't wait to see you at the Park soon, and as always, we appreciate your support!

As we approach the end of the year, now is the time to plan your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA and/or retirement accounts before the December 31 deadline. One way to satisfy your RMD is to donate the funds to a nonprofit organization, such as Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture. This is known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), and is a great way to support us! If you have any questions, please email development@glenechopark.org. Thank you for your generosity! |

Support our year-end fundraising campaign by sponsoring a match! This opportunity is open to companies and individuals, and starts at $400. Your match supports the Park you love while incentivizing donors! Email development@glenechopark.org for more information. |
