Free Dance for PD® (Dance for Parkinson's Disease) classes meet weekly on Wednesdays. Starting this week, Dance for PD® will meet in the Ballroom Back Room until the end of August. Sign up is encouraged, but walk-ins are also accepted.
Thursday evening, brings another FREE Summer Concert to the Bumper Car Pavilion. In recognition of America's music history on its big birthday, our Summer Concert Series celebrates music spanning the last 100 years right up until today! This week, join THE ROCKITS, one of the DC area's premier "party fun" bands, for an evening of live music. This six piece group features members PG, Robin, BillyO, Eyes, Steve, and Kim. With songs that span the History of Rock n Roll, '50s to '80s, THE ROCKITS are ready to bring the dance party to you!
In celebration of Montgomery County Heritage Days, Glen Echo Park is pleased to present FREE carousel rides and a history scavenger hunt on Saturday. Rides on our historic 1921 Dentzel carousel will be free all day (on June 27 only, open 11am - 5pm) in honor of the Summer of Protest that began on June 30, 1960 with Howard University students entering the privately-owned, segregated Glen Echo Amusement Park and attempting to ride the carousel. This sparked summer-long protests that resulted in the amusement park opening to all in 1961. Heritage Days programming will also include a children's history scavenger hunt featuring six historic Glen Echo Park buildings! Complete the scavenger hunt by visiting all the sites and pick up a small, take-home prize.
We're filling the dance floor each week at the Park! With dances Wednesday through Sunday in our historic Spanish Ballroom, Bumper Car Pavilion, and Ballroom Back Room (sometimes in all three venues at once!), Glen Echo Park is your dance partner. We've got another wonderful dance lineup this week, including a Sunday afternoon Contra Dance with Dancing Planet and a Ballroom Dance with Ballroom Time.
The Call for Entries is now open for the 55th Annual Labor Day Art Show! This Glen Echo Park tradition takes place in the historic Spanish Ballroom and brings thousands of art enthusiasts to the Park every year. The show will be held daily from September 5 - 7, 2026 with an opening reception on Friday, September 4 at 7pm. Entries must be submitted by Monday, August 3, 2026 at 11:59pm EST.
Read on for more details about these events plus other happenings this week, including upcoming classes, exhibitions, and social dances. We can't wait to see you at the Park soon, and as always, we appreciate your support!
