This morning, we welcomed home several beloved carousel animals that returned to the Park after getting a tune-up due to water damage repairs. Thank you to WUSA9, WTTG Fox5, and WTOP for covering the story! The Dentzel Carousel will reopen for the 2025 season with Carousel Day on Saturday, May 3. Before then, you can visit the the newly restored animals as part of a Glen Echo Park Civil Rights and History Tour, led by a National Park Service Ranger on April 5.

Repairs were completed by Carousels and Carvings of Marion, Ohio, which was

founded by 2024 National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Fellow Todd W. Goings.
