Hi Jenni,

It's another wonderful week at Glen Echo Park! Get in touch with your local arts community by attending a social dance, taking a class or workshop, visiting a gallery, or seeing a children's theater performance—so many great options!

🚨Discounted dance alert! Why should you have to pick one dance when there are three great dances to try? This Friday, April 18, we're offering a special deal with a TRIPLE DANCE DISCOUNT NIGHT. Participating dances are: Zydeco Dance with Ruben Moreno and the Zydeco Re-Evolution, Back Room Salsa Night, and Contra Dance with Friday Night Dancers. Grab tickets to one of these wonderful Friday night dances (online or at the door) and add another dance ticket at the door for $10 off the day-of price. Or go for the triple treat and add two more dances at the door, taking $10 off each additional dance, and rotate between all three styles!

Start your weekend off with an energetic boost at our drop-in dance fitness series, DanceFit for Body & Mind! From 10:00am - 11:00am, try a Shake Your Soul class for a mind & body connection set to world music. From 11:15am - 12:15pm, check out a Bollywood & Bhangra class, the perfect introduction to two distinct Indian dance styles.

This week in the galleries, visit the Glen Echo Pottery Gallery, which is reopening after taking a break during the winter months! Open Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00am - 4:00pm, the gallery is located in the yurt across from the carousel, and features work by instructors and advanced students. You can also check out a Yellow Barn Studio weekend exhibition by Jenny Wilson—this weekend only! Each weekend from early spring through late winter, the Yellow Barn Gallery presents exhibitions showcasing local artists.

Stopping by the Park on a weekday? Although most of our galleries have weekend hours, there are still plenty of open studios and galleries to browse during the week! The Park View Gallery, located on the 2nd floor of the Arcade Building, is open Monday through Saturday, presenting new exhibitions each month. The Stone Tower Studio, located on the 2nd floor of the Stone Tower, has open studio & gallery hours Wednesday through Sunday, featuring resident artist J. Jordan Bruns and visiting artist exhibitions. Across the hall from Stone Tower Studio, the SilverWorks Gallery is open Thursday through Sunday, featuring the work of resident artist Blair Anderson and SilverWorks instructors. Open studio & gallery hours can be found on our events calendar.

The Washington Conservatory of Music (WCM) presents a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow artists & musicians with their CommUNITY Showcase, an event for DMV artists to share their work with each other and the community. This Saturday afternoon showcase will foster solidarity between artists of all disciplines, ages, and backgrounds, providing an inspiring space for performer and audience alike.

Read on for more of this week's happenings, including upcoming classes, exhibitions, and social dances. We can't wait to see you at the Park soon, and as always, we appreciate your support!
