Greetings!

This weekend, a local tradition returns to Glen Echo Park! Join us this Sunday for the Washington Folk Festival, a staple of the region for more than 40 years. The Folklore Society of Greater Washington (FSGW) was unable to present the festival in 2024, but it's back this year as a one-day event with a jam-packed roster full of dancing, storytelling, and music ranging from American to International styles: bluegrass to Celtic, Klezmer to Americana, blues to Zydeco, we cover folk music from around the world! RSVP for helpful day-of information (preferred, not required) >>

But before we welcome back the Folk Festival, we've got a full weekend of activities at the Park! From Latin Dance to Children's Theater, there's plenty to pick from.

Get your dance on! Join us for a Back Room Salsa Night on Friday, a Bachata y más dance on Saturday, or both! Since both of these Partnership-presented Latin Dances dances fall on the same weekend, we're adding a discounted Latin Dance Weekend ticket that lets you try both Salsa on Friday & Bachata on Saturday. Grab the Latin Dance Weekend Ticket to save, available at checkout for either dance.

Opening Saturday at the Puppet Co., our favorite black cat is back in Jennie the Cat: A Halloween Adventure. Guest artists Ingrid & Mollie return to the Puppet Co. mainstage after last year's Helen Hayes Recommended premiere!

DanceFit had to be cancelled this Saturday, but we'll be back next week with more mindful movement!

Open Saturday and Sunday only, be sure to stop by artist Arleen Seed's Yellow Barn Studio weekend exhibition to browse works by this local artist. Each weekend, from early spring through late winter, visit the Yellow Barn Gallery to view exhibitions showcasing painting and drawing work.

It's your last chance to catch Artist-in-Residence Ashton Reeder's Planetary Computation in Photoworks Gallery, recently reviewed in Mark Jenkins' DisCerning Eye. The exhibition closes this Sunday, with I COME FROM... a photography retrospective by Karen Keating opening next Saturday.

Read on for more details about these events plus other happenings this week, including upcoming classes, exhibitions, and social dances. We can't wait to see you at the Park soon, and as always, we appreciate your support!
