Greetings!

Fall is in the air! From social dances with visiting bands to fall children's theater productions, there's an autumnal activity for everyone at the Park!

Fall dances are in full swing! This week brings a Latin Dance Social with Moxie Movement Dance Company on Friday; a Brazilian Zouk Dance and Brazilian Zouk Bootcamp with District Zouk on Saturday; and a Sarau de Samba with EducArte, a Waltz Dance with Waltz Time, and a Contra Dance with Cécilia (co-presented with Institute of Musical Traditions) on Sunday. Dance for PD® (Dance for Parkinson's Disease) continues, with free classes meeting each Wednesday in the Arcade Building. Plus, DanceFit Saturday morning drop-in classes are underway with two types of dance and two time options, including DanceFit: Shake Your Soul and DanceFit: Folk Dances of India.

We also have two spectacular bands joining us this week for Partnership-presented dances in our Bumper Car Pavilion! Thursday night, we welcome Horace Trahan & the Ossun Express for a Zydeco Dance, and Rusty Sal returns to the Park for a Honky Tonk Dance on Friday evening. Each dance starts off with a 30 minute, beginner-friendly lesson, included with the price of admission. Grab a Dual Dance Ticket to attend both dances at a $14 discount. We hope to see you at one (or both!) of these live music & dance celebrations!

In the Yellow Barn Gallery, visit a weekend exhibition by artists Donna Quesada, open Saturday and Sunday only. From early spring through late winter, the Yellow Barn Gallery presents rotating weekend exhibitions showcasing established and emerging local artists.

Saturday afternoon, learn about Irish music at the Park at Washington Conservatory of Music's (WCM) Intro to Irish Music Workshop. Get to know WCM’s Irish Music program through an informal presentation and tune teach breakout sessions for fiddle, flute, tin, whistle, bodhrán, and voice in WCM's Recital Room, followed by a happy hour jam session with the Irish Inn Mates at the Irish Inn!

Come say hi to us at the Potomac Day Parade this Saturday, OFFSITE at 10220 River Road from 8am to 3pm. The Park will have a table, so stop by to learn more about upcoming events & programs!

The Puppet Co. presents a special show by Marsha from Marsha and the Positrons on Sunday. Marsha’s shows are playful, educational, and entertaining for all ages! Her clever, energetic, upbeat songs mix science facts with messages about kindness and friendship.

Read on for more details about these events plus other happenings this week, including upcoming classes, exhibitions, and social dances. We can't wait to see you at the Park soon, and as always, we appreciate your support!

As we approach the end of the year, now is the time to plan your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA and/or retirement accounts before the December 31 deadline. One way to satisfy your RMD is to donate the funds to a nonprofit organization, such as Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture. This is known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), and is a great way to support us! If you have any questions, please email development@glenechopark.org. Thank you for your generosity!

Support our year-end fundraising campaign by sponsoring a match! This opportunity is open to companies and individuals, and starts at $400. Your match supports the Park you love while incentivizing donors! Email development@glenechopark.org for more information.
