Due to the 11:00 a.m. Bronco game this Sunday, we are having a Saturday evening worship service on September 24th at 6:00 p.m. It is a contemporary worship service that will look identical to the 10:00 a.m. service that Sunday (
we will still have our 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. worship services on Sunday). Come out and worship with us on Saturday evening! Go Broncos!!!

This week in Sunday School...we will be learning about the plagues in Egypt!
We will talk about Moses and his work to get the slaves out of Egypt. Be ready to talk about the plagues, then we are going to play a game to see how well you remember them.
Calling Parents and Volunteers! Can you sing, dance, laugh,and learn? Join us downstairs for the whole hour as a Teacher or Shepherd or for just 15 minutes as a Set-Up Helper, Greeter, Prize Counter Helper and Clean-Up Helper!
Join us downstairs for Sunday School and spend time with our amazing kids! These also give you a chance to welcome new families to our church! You can also help teach our children as a Teacher or Shepherd.

Youth Sunday Mornings
- 6th-12th grade students are invited to the High School room from 9:20-9:50am. Michelle Hicks, our interim High School Ministry Coordinator, is leading the program.
Middle School & High School Youth Groups
- We meet each Sunday Sunday evening from 6:00PM - 7:30PM. Snacks, games, activities, worship, and teaching.
Kick-off Turn-Out
- we had over 40 Middle and High School students at our youth group kick-off last Sunday! You don't want to miss out. New faces welcome!!!
CUC Fall Youth Retreat
- Registration is now available - https://rmcucc.campbrainregistration.com/. Please sign your Middle School and High School students up for the Fall Youth Retreat at Camp LaForet. The retreat runs from the evening of November 4 through the early afternoon on November 6th. The cost is $150 - a $25 discount per student is available when you register. If you need further scholarships or discounts, please contact Justin (justin@columbinechurch.org or 720-608-0373). This is a retreat put on by the Rocky Mountain United Church of Christ. Our students will be joining students from across Colorado for the weekend. It should be a fantastic retreat that we know your teenagers will enjoy!

Ballot Review
Here is your chance to get a clear, concise, nonpartisan explanation of all the issues on the ballot this fall, on Tuesday evening, Sept. 27th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., the League of Women Voters will be presenting a ballot review for us in Fireside Chapel so we can all learn about the many issues on our ballots. There will be an explanation of the ramifications of a "yes" or "no" vote with pros and cons, and plenty of time for questions.

Awaken The Dreamer, Change The Dream Symposium
- an informative and inspirational session with videos and interactive group exercises prepared by the Pachamama Alliance to facilitate the vital goal of bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on this planet. The Symposium will last about 3 hours and snacks will be provided. There is no charge to attend. Family Promise
Yes it is already time again - for our last rotation of the 2016 calendar year.
Did you know it takes almost 70 people to fill all the slots for the week? Some can overlap but last time we had just a few people covering all of the needs. We need 15 people to prepare dinners and Saturday brunch, 14 people to spend the night, baby sitters, hosts for each evening and during the day on Saturday, plus set up, tear down, and driving the van every day to and from the day site. If everyone does one thing we will have it all covered. Of course we partner with St. James and hope to draw in some new folks from another church. But we need your help too! Habitat for Humanity Sign ups are at the Welcome Spot after both services 9/18 to help build our 17th home. We will start building in Nov and finish in March. is celebrating their 7th Annual Empty Bowl Fundraiser; Oct. 13th at the Wildlife Experience at 5:30 p.m. Our speaker is Adolph Coors IV who will be sharing about the transforming power of faith, hope, forgiveness and love.

Crop Walk
The 31st annual Foothills Colorado CROP Hunger Walk will take place on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Clement Park, shelters 1 and 2, in Littleton, at 1:30 p.m. Hundreds of people will gather for this 5k charity walk that provides food, water, and education to those in need in our community. Please join us! Our mission is to end hunger and poverty. All funds raised go to the non-profit food banks we support, including the Action Center of Jefferson County, the Arvada Food Bank, Love Inc. of Littleton, CWS Global, and the Sheridan Food Pantry. Food Items Needed
When you're shopping for food items to donate, they are in desperate need of canned fruit, oatmeal and jelly. Also, they need peanut butter, crackers, boxed/bagged rice, small juices, and boxed potatoes. And, did you know that non-food items cannot be purchased with food stamps? Please add hand soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste to your shopping list. Your generosity continues to help support families in need. Thank you.
Coffee Mission Sales
We will be selling coffee from Cafe Justo, a Presbyterian USA supported mission to build a self-sustaining coffee cooperative in Mexico. Please come visit us between services every second Sunday of the month. We have regular and dark roast for $13.00 per pound, and smaller sample sizes for $3.50. Thanks for supporting this great cause while enjoying a cup of coffee!

JOYS & CONCERNS
JOYS:
Fallon Marie, daughter of Craig & Kelly Davis, was baptized on Sunday, September 18th.
Congratulations to Doug Rund and Karissa Marcum, who were married on September 3rd.
Please pray for the group traveling to Scotland, departing this morning, September 25th and returning October 5th. Prayers for safe travels, as the group learns about Scottish history and how it has influenced our faith today. Prayers for these men and women to seek and experience God's grace in the midst of this pilgrimage to an ancient land.
Mitch's 24-hour Musical Event, two weeks ago. raised over $2,500.00 for his nephew, Max and his family. If you would like to make a donation, checks should be made out to Mark Samu and sent to the church c/o of Mitch. CD's of the event are available for purchase at the Welcome Spot.
Congratulations to Max Samu and his wife on the birth of their daughter, September 10th, the same day as Mitch's 24 hour musical event to raise money for Max.
CONCERNS:
Prayers for the family of Lola Edgell, who recently passed away. Lola was a long-time member of Columbine. A committal service was held on Wednesday, September 14th. at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Prayers for Vivian and Bob Duntsch, for the death of their eldest son, Gordon.
Prayers for Braden and his parents, Ben & Jen Sinclair. Braden is the great-nephew of Barb Rudolf. He is undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and had a severe allergic reaction to one of the chemo drugs. Last Friday, Braden started a new alternative chemo treatment and has not had an allergic reaction so far. The next two weeks will be extremely hard for him as he undergoes this new phase of intensified treatment.
Prayers for Max Samu, nephew of Mitch. His bone marrow transplant was performed on August 25th.
Prayers for Ingrid Falkenstine, who was in Littleton Hospital and has been moved to Littleton Care and Rehabilitation this past week.
Prayers for Dick Husted, who will be having cancer surgery on October 4th.
Prayers for Kristin Millan, niece of Dawn McEwen, who has a tumor on her kidney. Surgery will be in a week to have her kidney removed.
Prayers for Nancy Pantone, who will be having knee replacement surgery on September 26th.
Prayers for Sandra Eggleston, who had surgery on September 14th.
Carol Albertson has asked for prayers for her daughter, Dora. She will be undergoing cancer treatment for the next six months.
Heather Beckey has asked for prayers for Tyler's pre-school teacher, Michele Boerma and family. Michele's husband, Jeff, had a bicycle accident Saturday, Sept. 17th and passed away on Sunday, September 18th. They have four children.
Prayers for Judy Simmons and family as she continues with chemo treatments every other week in response to stage four pancreatic cancer.
