We are people of faith who gather to worship and love God,
care for one another, and share God’s compassion with the world.

Bishop Elaine JW Stanovsky intends to appoint the Rev. Rebecca Farrester-Milligan as pastor of Battle Ground Community United Methodist Church in Battle Ground, Washington, beginning July 1, 2022.

WE NEED YOU!!!

We need Sunday morning volunteers!

Coffee Fellowship/Liturgists/Ushers/Acolytes/Altar Flowers

Do you enjoy serving food and beverages to your church family? We need folks to sign up to serve on Sundays after worship. We also need Ushers (for passing the collection plate during worship) and an Acolyte (someone to light the Christ candles during the opening hymn and then taking the light out during the closing hymn). The liturgist usually reads the "Call to Worship" and the scripture message. We love to have beautiful flowers each week on the altar, so if that is something that you would enjoy providing, there is a sign-up sheet for that as well.

The sign-up sheets are all in a notebook on the counter in the church office.

From the Worship team:

We need to increase our roster of ushers and acolytes and offer training. We didn’t take up the collection for two years: one year when the church closed for covid and another year when we didn’t pass the plate. As we return to normal worship, it’s becoming clear that we need to involve more people. We encourage you to sign up on the roster in the church office, but note that you may be approached to become an usher. We’re not opposed to drafting individuals whom we think will be great at it! And again, we will provide you with the proper training so that you will feel comfortable participating.

HOW WE WORSHIP............................................................
Unknown.jpeg

FROM OUR MUSIC DIRECTOR:

During this interim period between pastors, I would like to thank the worship committee for coming together to exchange ideas, share thoughts and brainstorm ways in which we can constantly improve our Sunday services. I would also like to welcome our newest committee member Michael Dzwonkowski who has begun running the sound booth on Sundays. He has great ideas, and I love that he isn’t shy!

Reminder: Please wear your church nametags beginning July 3rd so that Pastor Becca can get to know us and learn our names.  She is supposed to be here in person by July 10th.

ZOOM WORSHIP

Sunday Zoom worship will be unavailable until Pastor Becca gets here and is established.

Pastors each have their own Zoom account through the conference.

HOW WE LEARN..................................................

WEEDING AT THE CHURCH

WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP!

Do you enjoy working in the yard/garden?  We are looking for volunteers to come to the church, at your convenience, to do some weeding.  This has been a very rainy spring, and as a result, the weeds are everywhere!  If you are able to come, even for an hour or so, and just pull a few weeks at any time that is convenient to you, we would greatly appreciate it!  Let's keep our beautiful church grounds looking their best.

CAN ANYONE PROVIDE A RIDE TO CHURCH ON SUNDAYS?

Lynette Sargent is looking for someone to help get her to church on Sundays.  She is not able to drive any longer.  Perhaps we could get a rotation started if enough of you are able to help.  If you are able to pick her up for church and then take her home, can you please contact Lynette:

Refugee Restart Kits

A huge thank you to those individuals and groups who contributed 7 full bins for the Lutheran Refugee Project. Three individuals gave 4 newborn kits, Tinks/Trinity gave a welcome kit, men’s group gave a personal kit, Mary Martha gave a cleaning kit. We do have another bin which we can decide how to fill. Watch for further information! You are an amazingly giving congregation!

Jan Shaul

We are partnering with Lutheran Services Refugee Program to provide Refugee Restart Kits to new families. Please see the list below and either provide one or more items on the list, or an entire "kit". We will be collecting items at the church; please make sure to mark them as to what kit they go in, or if you are doing an entire kit, mark the type of kit.

If you have questions or need more information, please contact Jan Shaul.

REFUGEE RESTART KITS

If you would like your name and e-mail to be included on the mailing list for the Lutheran Refugee Restart Program, please let Nancy know (in the office) and she will compile a list to give to them.
