LENTEN BOOK STUDY

Don't You Care that We are Drowning?

Rev. Brian Spahr

Beginning on Wednesday, March 1 at 6:00pm in the Bethel Library (or via Zoom) and meeting each Wednesday evening through March, Pastor Dave will lead a six-session in-person/online hybrid study of the book, Don't You Care that We are Drowning?.

Written by the Rev. Brian Spahr, this book shares the unexpected prayers of people who cry out to God amid their struggle, suffering, and loss. His work as a parish pastor and as a hospital chaplain, along with his own personal trauma brought on by an unexpected heart attack, have given Brian unique insight into why surface-level prayers do not often cut it.

In this book, Brian shares real stories, from real people, and the honest prayers of people crying out to Jesus in times of deep desperation and need. His authenticity helps usher the broken-hearted into the presence of Jesus and serves as a model for all of us who have or will share such prayers ourselves.
