NEW PEW BIBLES
For two decades now, the garnet-colored pew Bibles have served us faithfully, and we are grateful! But we no longer use the translation found in these Bibles, and some of them are showing their age. The time has come to install new pew Bibles to serve us for the next two decades!
The old pew Bibles are being carefully collected and catalogued. For any Bible that has a dedication, we will reach out to the people involved and give them the opportunity to keep it.
The new pew Bibles are the most recent translation of the NRSV (the version we use to preach). One quirk: they come from Cambridge Press, and so they do use the British spelling of some words ("saviour," for example). We trust that will not interfere with our understanding.
The new pew Bibles will be in place this Sunday, March 1. We will pause for a moment during the sanctuary service to give thanks and offer a prayer of blessing, so they might be a blessing to us for years to come.
