Thanksgiving Services
Tuesday, November 23
The annual Community Thanksgiving service brings together diverse faith groups in a time of fellowship, unity, and thankfulness. This year's service is at Congregation B'nai Israel at 146 Heywood Avenue in Spartanburg on Tuesday, November 23rd at 7:00 PM.

Fully vaccinated community members wearing masks are invited to join in-person. The service will also be broadcast live via facebook.com/OurTemple29302

In addition to fellowship, the Spartanburg community joins together in generosity to support a local charity through the Thanksgiving Service offering.
This year's organization is Brothers Restoring Urban Hope (BRUH Mentor).

The Spartanburg County Foundation matches the offering up to $5,000.

Living Well through Advent 2021
Devotion Books
To help prepare for our celebration of Christmas, we will once again provide a special booklet to each family in the Parish. Advent is a time of waiting, but it seems we have already been waiting for some time now—for things to return to some semblance of normal. So the theme of this year’s Advent devotions is particularly timely: Living Well Through Advent 2021: Practicing Patience with All Your Heart, Soul, Strength, and Mind.

Booklets are available now, in plenty of time for the beginning of Advent next Sunday. You may pick up a copy in the narthex of the church, the lobby of the Parish and Community Life Center, or the reception area in Satterlee Hall.
Volunteers needed
Front desk reception volunteers are needed, particularly in the afternoon. Please contact Rebecca Chrisfield if you are willing to serve in this ministry.

We are also in need of volunteers for our livestreaming team (Sunday mornings at 10:15am). If you would like to serve please contact Jeanelle Smith.
No Wednesday Night Dinners this month.
The St. Matthew's Food Pantry
needs our help!
Please bring canned vegetables, soups, tomatoes, and canned meats (chicken & tuna) to the reception area at Satterlee Hall or the lobby of the Parish & Community Life Center.
A note of thanks!
Dear Advent Family,

Thank you all so much for your caring, generous gestures to me and my family. You have made me feel so loved and given me hope that it's going to be OK.

All of your hugs have really helped and I don't know what I would do without your help. I'm so blessed to be at the Advent. Christ's light really does shine through you!

With Love,
Michele Seagraves
