One of the biggest challenges faced by makers of COVID-19 vaccines has been attracting a diverse population of participants to clinical trials. To be approved, vaccines must be tested on different ethnic groups for differences in effectiveness, side effects and dosage. Johnson & Johnson turned to Dr. Kenneth Kim, who has conducted hundreds of clinical trials in the highly diverse Los Angeles area, to get it done. As time was of the essence, Dr. Kim relied on THO's healthcare expertise to quickly attract enough trial participants from an array of ethnic groups. The THO healthcare team created a lightning-fast program that placed live coverage in major broadcast outlets serving diverse audiences. Coverage by ABC7, KTLA, KNX Radio and Spanish-language Estrella-TV drew a fresh pool of candidates to Dr. Kim's lab allowing him to gather the necessary data to help the now-famous Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine gain emergency use authorization from the FDA.

The Glow Event 

Celebrating the 2020 holiday season reminded us that who we spend time with is truly what makes the holidays special. This past season the THO team celebrated in a new and creative way. Our amazing team was able to come together, yet remain socially distanced, with a visit to GLOW, an electrified art installation at the South Coast Botanic Garden in Palos Verdes, CA. This inaugural event was set beneath an evening sky, providing the team an awe-inspiring light show inspired by and in nature.
Community's Child Food Distribution

The THO team had the privilege of volunteering alongside some South Bay friends at Community's Child, a non-profit that supports disadvantaged women and children. We had a great time packaging healthy meals, including some Thanksgiving supplies, for delivery to families in the area.

Forté Specialty Contractors, a Las Vegas-based design-build construction company known for creating amazing experiential spaces around the world, showcased its fire-resistant homes built from steel on ABC 7 Eyewitness News Los Angeles.
Flynann Janisse, executive director of Rainbow Housing Assistance Corporation, a nonprofit organization which provides service-enriched housing programs for residents of rental housing communities throughout the country, was showcased in Authority Magazine for the magazine's Women Leaders Of Real Estate series.
Mike Tingus, president and managing principal of Lee & Associates-LA North/Ventura, joined podcast host Lance Cayko on Inside the Firm Monday Morning Coffee to discuss where the commercial real estate sector is heading, lessons learned from the 2008 recession and the current pandemic, the digitalization of real estate and the future of brick and mortar spaces.
USC Lusk Center for Real Estate and UCLA Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies released a report stating that due to lost work and wages as a result of the economic shutdown, about 7 percent of L.A. County tenants did not pay any rent at least once between May and July. The report was mentioned on Commercial Observer.

How can a professional networking organization increase its brand awareness? THO took on the challenge. CREW-LA (Commercial Real Estate Women – Los Angeles) advances the success of women in commercial real estate by providing opportunities for business development and professional growth. THO created and implemented a social media strategy to encourage CREW-LA members to participate in business networking opportunities using eye-catching graphics and intentional calls to action (CTA). THO's efforts have resulted in consistent growth in total followers and engagement on LinkedIn. We are excited to continue raising awareness about CREW-LA and all it has to offer!
