Cabinet Redistricting Proposal Webinar
May 22, 2023 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Bishop Tracy S. Malone, the Cabinet, and other Conference leadership will host a webinar to introduce the Cabinet Redistricting proposal to be presented for vote at Annual Conference in June.
During the webinar, participants will hear discussion and be able to ask questions about the recommendation to move from 10 districts to 4 districts effective January 1, 2024. More information about the webinar, including the link to join it, will be published in the May 15 issue of E-News.

Join Conesville UMC to celebrate the night in 1738 when John Wesley had a spiritual awakening about the nature of God's grace and the potential of having an individual relationship with God through repentance, regular prayer, reading the Bible, and following the example of Jesus. Annual Conference 2023
REGISTRATION CLOSES MAY 12
The theme for the 54th session of East Ohio Annual Conference is "Faith, Hope, Love." The words of 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 (CEB) will guide worship services and business sessions.
AC 2023 will be held at the John S. Knight Center in Akron. Registration will be online only. Click here.
Use this link to register for both Clergy Session (Wed, June 7) and AC (June 8-10).
Once again, this year, the Conference has worked through the Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau to partner with hotels in and around Akron to secure blocks of rooms for those attending Annual Conference. Information for how to book rooms at EOC-partnered hotels is available on the Annual Conference 2023 webpage here.
Midwest Mission will be collecting items at Annual Conference. Visit our Mission Opportunities webpage for details on what they have requested and encourage your church or other community groups to start collecting items now.
Annual Conference Offering
The Annual Conference 2023 offering (Fund 9214) will be received during the business session on Thursday, June 8. The offering will support:
- EOC Volunteers in Mission Fund 9643
- Heart 4 the City in Akron
- Bishop’s Discretionary Fund
EOC Volunteers in Mission (Fund 9643) supports travel and materials of EOC missions teams organized by a United Methodist Volunteers in Mission-trained team leader.
Heart 4 the City (Fund 9941) is building the front porch to the kingdom of God by prioritizing relationships and establishing programs addressing needs in Akron.
The Bishop’s Discretionary Fund is used by Bishop Tracy S. Malone to support ministry needs that impact countless lives each year.
Your generous donation to the 2023 Annual Conference offering can make a difference for others in the coming year and beyond.
Ways to donate to the offering if you are not in attendance at AC
Visit www.eocumc.com/donate, scroll down the page to the section labeled Ministries Administered by Council on Ministries, locate Fund 9214: Annual Conference offering, and enter the amount you or your church wish to donate to this year's offering.
You may also mail your donation by making a check payable to the East Ohio Conference and including Fund 9214 or "AC offering" on the memo line. Checks should be mailed to:

YAC Recharge Rally
Saturday, June 17 at Camp Wanake
This year’s Youth Annual Conference for students in grades 6-12 is a rally day of fellowship, fun, and worship at Camp Wanake on Saturday, June 17. The theme of YAC 2023 is Recharge, and the focus scripture is Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
Participating youth and their adult leaders will connect with peers from across the East Ohio Conference during this day of fun and activities that begins at 10:00 a.m. and will conclude at 10:00 p.m. following a time of worship, communion, and a candle-lighting service. The cost is $20/person, which includes a t-shirt, lunch and dinner.

Get ready for the Dick Parks Memorial Race at the Rock,
a fundraiser for Flat Rock!
The event is virtual again for 2023, but you may hold your own race any time during June. You pick the time and place!
• Register for the "Race in a Box" option to get your registration, a shirt, a Flat Rock water bottle, a medal, and a whistle to kick-start your fun (while supplies last)!
• Run your race any time in June. This gives you more time to get friends and family to sponsor your race.
• All shirts are pre-orders only. The last day to order your shirt or Race in a Box is May 5. Shirts and Race in a Box items will ship in early June.
• Race with us anywhere! On June 25, we'll share pictures from races everywhere! Who will be the racer the furthest away?
• Friends and family can sponsor you, helping you win The Dick Parks Fundraising Award. Donations in your name are counted. The top fundraising individual, church team, and non-church team will be victorious*.
*At least one person from a team must be registered for the event to be eligible for fundraising awards. Shirt-only purchases are not event registration.
