SHADOW ON THE HEARTLAND
June 12 at 6:30 PM
Moreland UMC

Do you know what your children and grandchildren are doing? School is out. Where are they going? How much time are they spending on social media?

Moreland United Methodist Church is pleased to announce the showing of the award-winning documentary, “Shadow on the Heartland” on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at
6:30 P.M. This documentary portrays the serious issue of human trafficking in Ohio. The state of Ohio is ranked fifth for calls to the National Human Trafficking Hot Line
and the City of Toledo is ranked 3rd in the nation for trafficking.

Learn ways our children can protect themselves from becoming victims and being among the 1,100 underage children trapped in human trafficking each year. Dove.org states, "Human trafficking is commonly thought to be a Third World country issue and not a problem that is taking place in our own communities. 'Shadow on the Heartland' was created to shed light on this crime and to educate both adults and children on how and why human trafficking occurs and what we can do to stop it. Hear from victims and the perpetrators involved in one of the fastest growing crimes against our children, as well as from the state leaders who are fighting to end it." Movie is approved for children 12 and older. View trailer.

There will be a time for questions and discussion after the event. Refreshments will also be served. Please contact the Moreland United Methodist Church at (330) 264-9903 or at [email protected] to ask any questions or to register by June 8 (registration is appreciated but not required). We look forward to seeing you at this event.
