THE APOSTLE PAUL – LESSON 7

COMMISSISONED AS A MISSIONARY

Barnabas, the overseer of the Antioch church, labored together with Saul for a year establishing the Syrian church as the center of outreach to the gentile world, especially the large region of Asia Minor.

When the Prophet Agabus prophesied of a severe upcoming famine, the Antioch church took up a large offering for their brothers in Judea. This was taken by Barnabas and Saul to Jerusalem to be distributed. Upon returning to Antioch, they brought young Mark (John Mark) with them from Jerusalem. This Mark would become a frequent traveler on Paul’s missionary journeys and would later write the gospel bearing his name. This appears to have taken place around 44 to 45 A.D.

Barnabas and his sidekick Saul continued to minister a little while in Antioch. The established prophets in that church were Barnabas, Niger, Agabus, Manaen, and Lucius. As they were fasting and praying (ministering to the Lord), Holy Spirit gave them a clear directive. He said in Acts 13:3, “Separate (unto) me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.” This was their missionary call.

Upon additional fasting and prayer, the prophets laid hands upon them and commissioned them to go forth from Antioch to the rest of the gentile world.

Barnabas and Saul thus departed, taking along with them John Mark. From this point onward, Saul is now referred to as Paul. This is the onset of Paul’s first missionary journey.

Beginning tomorrow, we will follow Paul’s missionary journeys and how God used him to expand the church and establish a common doctrine for all believers. This will bring him much opposition, persecution, and afflictions, but it established the common ground upon which we benefit today. During these journeys he authored 13 of the epistles (letters) of our New Testament, or 14 if Hebrews is counted. Without his writings, the church of today could be in great discord and chaos. These “scriptures” were essential to the future of the church.

AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH

There are many prophetic words that have been given that things are going to be better in the world. These words say that the body of Christ will be blessed like never before. This is our season. This is our year.

There are also many prophetic words that have been given that destruction of all we know is at hand. Calamity, judgment, wrath, and destruction are soon to come on our nation, the church, and the world.

So, which of these is the correct prophetic word for this hour?

I believe those that have sold out completely to Jesus in these days will be the remnant that will be used by God in a mighty way. They will do exploits they never thought possible and bring souls into the kingdom. Provision will come, but it will only come to those that are sold out to God 100%.

While this is the case for this remnant, the world will be going through great turmoil like we have never seen before. It will be a time as it was “As in the Days of Noah” where violence filled the known world. Noah did not stop what God called him to do, even when there were only 8 members of his family to do the job he was called to do. That job was “build the ark.”

The ark represents the safety of God.

Those that are not sold out will increase in hatred, violence, and evil doings worse than we have seen, just like in Noah’s days. The perversion during those days was beyond what we can imagine. The remnant sold out will rise above this sin and help to “build the ark” which is Jesus Christ. We build the ark by bringing people to Jesus Christ through salvation. Without salvation they cannot enter the ark and will be lost for eternity.

So, both things prophesied are true. It depends on the condition of each individual heart. Only God and you can know your heart. Are you sold out to Jesus? Are you willing to lay your life down to bring people into the ark? Have you determined that sin will not be in your life? Have you come to the place where you say, “Here am I Lord, send me?” I pray that is the case. If not, you will see the wrath of God like never before. God will spare his faithful ones, but those that come against Him, and His Word, will suffer the consequences.

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

PROTECTIVE CUSTODY

As I was driving today and speaking with my husband about some things, I heard the Lord say he was putting us in “Protective Custody.” Now there is more than one meaning to this expression. Someone that is a criminal may be arrested and put into a place where no one can touch them. While the other meaning is when someone is a “witness” for the prosecutor, they are put in a place where the person being prosecuted cannot touch them until they are a witness at the accused’s trial.

What does this mean personally to me and to the body of Christ? I believe that God is putting us in a place where the enemy cannot touch us. He will go on trial for all of the things that he has done against us individually and for the rebellion against God in heaven.

How will this be manifested? I think it can be manifested in more than one way. There may be a move in the natural from where you are at to a “safe house” so the enemy cannot get to you. There may be a move in the spirit where God puts you into a “safe house”, which is in the shelter of the Most High, where the enemy cannot touch you.

Whatever the necessary protection that is being deemed necessary for you, my friends, God will provide. You must believe that He will meet the needs for you to be safe, secure, and able to do what He has called you to do. His “protective custody” is the best place to be!

PROPHETIC WORD

I hear the Lord saying..."There is a vast deception that is sweeping through you My people at this time. You must not ever get off the laid out path of My Word in order to do what seems popular and fashionable with the world and the church world. I have always called for My people to be separate from what others call normal. Never have I desired for My chosen to be normal or ever seeking to be. Keep your eyes open and your ears listening to My voice and My heartbeat as I cry aloud in this day that's coming on your land. Like never before I am breathing on you with a gush of My Spirit and My anointing to get you over the hump that you are now facing. Never think that because I am quiet that I am gone from your presence. No my child I am only withdrawing for a season as any good teacher would do in order for it to be made known to you that truly you cannot handle all the things that are now hard hitting your life and your ministry. But I can and I will. But first I am calling My people to repent from the sin of self-indulgence and self gratification. Only then can you have a clear word uncluttered from self and the things that are engulfing the lives of those around you. So yes I say come now and let us reason together and even if you have gone too far to the left of the plan I am gently pulling you back to right center where there are no clamoring for your attention with praises from a people that have not the ability to truly pull you to the levels of genuine truth and ministry that I have called you to do. So watch, yes I say look and be able to hear and receive what I am now waiting to pour out into and onto those who are ready and in the place to receive".
