DEFINING OURSELVES

So often we define ourselves by what we have done in life, our achievements, our successes, our failures, and even our money. Tragically this is not what defines us. What defines us is what we have done with God in our lives and the gifts He has given us. Have we used them wisely, or have we wasted them?

Everything that we do should point people to Christ. The money we earn, and the money we give; the job we have and the servant we are; the victories over sin, and the sinless life we now live. 

We so often promote the idea that you have to something great for God, when He just wants us to love him with all our heart, and love our neighbors as ourselves.

We would be total failures in life without God. A person may look successful by the world’s standards, but without God factored into everything it means nothing. 

When we work for a giving instead of a living, it becomes a joy to go to work. When we sing to glorify Him then our song becomes worship in God’s ear. 

My friends, never define yourselves by what you look like and what you have done. The measuring stick should always be God. Never compare yourselves to others, for it will always disappoint you. Choose to be a love slave for Jesus, and everything else won’t matter. When you do any job, small or great, do it as unto the Lord, and you will always find satisfaction. 

Don’t complain when God asks you to do small things. He’s looking for a servant’s heart. Don’t try to be anything but what He made you to be. He created you, and knows all about you. Just enjoy loving God. He enjoys loving you!
