MATTHEW 15:1-20 LESSON 7

TRADITIONS OF THE CHURCH – PART 4

Jesus’ word to his disciples about planting and rooting up (verse 13) mystified them. They seldom understood the meaning of parables he spoke. Peter in verse 15 questioned him. Jesus replied (my paraphrase), “Have y’all been with me all this time and you still don’t understand what I teach?”

Jesus went on to explain the parable in simple terms in verses 17-20. He said that whatever goes into the mouth to enter the belly ends up being caste out of the body through feces. It does not defile the man. It is what is in the heart (spirit of man) that comes out of the mouth that can defile a man. In Matthew 12:34 it says, “O generation of vipers, how can ye being evil speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” The spirit of a man reveals his true nature.

Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart (of the unsaved) is deceitful above all (other) things. Who (but God) can know it (the heart)?”

James 3:6, 8 says “…the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity (lawlessness), so is the tongue…that it defileth the whole body (person).”

Jesus then referred back to the original accusation of the Pharisees that his disciples were unclean because they did not do the tradition of washing their hands before eating causing them to be unclean and defiled. He said in verse 20, “…to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.” It is what is in his heart that defiles him. His speech in words (and actions) reveals that inner defilement.

If you spend your time listening to people (instead of talking) you will learn a lot about them which is a benefit to you. Words reveal a lot. Choose yours wisely. Talk less and listen more.

CURTAIN CALL

When we sit back and think about the coming of the Lord, it will be the last act on the calendar for the bride of Christ. She will have done everything to prepare herself for her soon-coming husband. She will have made herself ready for his appearing. Everything she does will lead to the finale and then comes the curtain call.

The apostle Paul lived his life knowing that when he left his mortal body it was absent from the body and present with the Lord. Death did not scare him. He was prepared, knowing that he had “finished his race” and would see Jesus, face to face.

That day is drawing sooner than ever my friends. We must make ourselves ready like a bride would before the wedding. Everything that would cause a “wrinkle” in our wedding garment must be pressed out. The pressing takes heat, and many are feeling the heat. Don’t resist the heat. It is necessary in this season that we are in. Curtain call on the old, bringing in the new

Many will have family that turn against them. Many will have friends betray them, but it is all part of the “getting ready” for that curtain call. Don’t be surprised when God takes you in a different direction than you had planned. That’s another curtain call. After all, you have told him that you would do whatever he asks, so be prepared for sudden changes. There will be sudden moves, and sudden changes of work. Some will retire, and some will be called out of retirement and given new assignments. It is all part of the coming curtain call. One act is over and the next one is about to start! Be blessed

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

We’ve heard it said, “When one door closes, another door will open”. However, some folks get so engrossed in regretfully looking back at the door that God allowed to close...Until it caused them not to see the new “God Door” that was now opening up right before their eyes. I wonder how many others have also looked back so intently at something or someone that’s long since been gone from their lives; Even when they knew in their hearts that it was God who allowed that door to close for their own benefit? It’s past time for some good folks out there to cry out to God; And sincerely ask Him for better judgement. It’s then and only then they’ll desire to see and to walk into what God has waiting for them. Yes, it will only be then they can be assured...That in God’s timing the right door will open for them. Just keep in mind that it’s only the “God Door” that takes you into the right season you’re desiring to walk into. Don’t ever forget that God always knows what’s best for you; And therefore He lovingly opens and He closes doors with you His child in mind. So, sit back and trust God... And in the right season your very own “God Door” will open up to you.

IMPORTANT PROPHETIC ALERT

The Lord has been revealing many things to His people in this hour, out of His grace and mercy. May we heed what He is showing us. I am grateful!

Remember - God's people should not get into fear when He sends warning dreams or visions out of His mercy. He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us!

We need to pray, prepare as much as possible, and trust our God no matter what may come. I have been warning of many of these things for several years now, so that His people will not get into fear, but be able to stand in faith in difficult times.

Over the last few weeks, quite a number of watchmen and intercessors that are connected to our ministry have shared dreams and/or visions they have had about a coming darkness, as well as some type of food shortage (mostly in America, but also in other nations some). I have also sensed that these things are coming as well, which I have shared some here since summer, but mostly in our prophetic group.

Myself and our admin team qualify what is approved on our closed Prophetic Forum group, to assure people are not being influenced by other things they've seen or heard, but truly what is coming from the Lord. I do believe all of these are warnings being given by Him, and it has also confirmed what I have sensed myself. I know and trust most all of those who have shared, and I know them not to be fanciful or impressionable by others. These are people of prayer, intercession, integrity and proper motive. They truly only share for prayer and many times, they "weren't going to share" until they saw so many others sharing about similar things they've seen/heard.

IS THIS DOOM & GLOOM??

I know many within the prophetic movement have taught, and believed, that the Lord only gives us happy, encouraging, or edifying words or prophetic things. Yet, if we read it scripture, that is not the case. Many times, we see Him warning His people of upcoming famine, war, attack, etc, as a way to help them and encourage them to not give up or be discouraged during that time. In that sense, it is very encouraging. It is His way of letting His people know that He is aware of all things, and He is with them even in the trials and difficult times.

If this last 2 years have taught us anything, I hope it has taught us, that it is better if we do know about the difficult events that are coming, as well as telling us the encouraging words. It does make it easier for us to prepare ourselves, both spiritually and in the natural, if we know in advance.

With that being said, I would like to encourage all to be as prepared as possible for these types of events to occur. We do not have a clear read on just how long these events may last, but we are trying to be as prepared as possible, all while believing it will not be an extended time. We are also not completely clear yet, when these things may happen, but with this increase of many dreams and visions lately, we believe it will be sooner rather than later. #PrayAndPrepare #TrustinTheLord

Oh...and have I mentioned there is great Glory and awakening happening as well?!

Here is a reminder from the "Best of Times, Worst of Times" word released in July 2018...

"Throughout all of the centuries, and we see in the Old and New Testament, God has continuously warned His people of what was coming. It is a part of His mercy and love…so His people can be prepared, and also to warn the world so they can repent and turn. We see examples of this when Joseph was warned there would be 7 years of plenty, then 7 years of famine. He, and those around Him, heeded the warning of the Lord, and because they did, they were all saved, including Joseph’s entire family. (Gen. 41)

Then we see in Acts 11:28, that a Prophet gives a word of warning by the Spirit that a famine was coming to all the world. Because they heeded the warning, and were prepared, we see that they were able to survive, and even have enough to share with other believers.

The Lord speaks and warns through His prophets, and if we will listen and heed the warning, we will be prepared. Amo 3:7 says, 'Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plans (secrets) to His servants the prophets.'

1Chron.12:32 tells us …'The sons of Issachar…had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do…'"
