Save the Date! Hill Days 2022 Reception – Ottawa

The Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) will be holding its first in-person Hill Days advocacy campaign in two years this October. The campaign will be held the third week of the month and involves more than 50 meetings over three days between the association, its members, parliamentarians, and federal officials. The aim of Hill Days 2022 is, as always, to voice the industry’s key priorities and recommendations for government action.

All regular TIAC members are invited to attend a special Hill Days evening reception, which will take place in Ottawa on Wednesday Oct. 19, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Wellington Building located at 180 Wellington St. (Room 430). In addition to TIAC members, invited guests will include all Members of Parliament, Senators, as well as senior staff from all federal departments that play a role in tourism and travel.

Thank You, TIAC Members!

TIAC is taking a moment to thank all of our members who sent a letter to their Member of Parliament in support of our recent campaign submission to the government to guide the new Federal Tourism Growth Strategy.

TIAC proposed several key industry goals to be achieved by 2030 in the submission, and identified four key pillars for action: Attracting and Retaining a Sustainable Tourism Workforce, Improving Access for Visitors to and within Canada, Developing and Promoting Tourism Assets, and Building a Regenerative and Inclusive Tourism Industry.

Together, these themes form the foundation of TIAC’s advocacy work over the next fiscal year.ear.
