Dear TIAC Members,
Over the past few months, TIAC has been actively participating in tourism events and conferences across Canada and meeting with Members of Parliament in Ottawa. These efforts serve two important goals: helping unite the sector around shared priorities and building stronger champions for tourism at the federal level.

Thank you to our
INDUSTRY PATRONS

As we’ve travelled across the country and connected with members, partners, and stakeholders, we’ve seen the value of showing up and listening directly to the sector. Our presence at industry events helps reinforce the alignment and shared voice that make our advocacy stronger.
We are carrying that message into our meetings with MPs by telling the local tourism story clearly and directly. By showing parliamentarians how tourism supports jobs, businesses, and economic activity in their ridings, TIAC is helping build greater understanding of why tourism matters and why it must be part of Canada’s economic conversation.

Representing your interests
Through our meetings with Members of Parliament, TIAC is bringing the local tourism story to Ottawa. We’re putting riding-level data in front of MPs and proving how tourism drives jobs, businesses, and economic activity in their communities. Our efforts are strengthening awareness of the sector’s value and the need for greater advocacy for tourism at the federal level.

Coming together across the country
Across Canada, TIAC is actively participating in tourism industry events to engage directly with members, partners, and sector leaders. A clear takeaway from these conversations is that our sector is strongest when it is aligned on priorities and united in its voice.

Parliamentary Tourism Caucus now 41 members strong
A key priority for TIAC in 2026 has been to build a stronger network of champions for tourism at the federal level, and we are pleased to see strong progress. By bringing tourism’s story directly to Parliamentarians and connecting local data and economic impact to national advocacy, TIAC is helping ensure tourism remains a national priority.
As a result of ongoing meetings and education efforts, the Parliamentary Tourism Caucus, which works to keep tourism front and centre on the national agenda, has grown from six to 41 members since the beginning of 2026.

TIAC weighs in on Federal Emergency Management
TIAC recently submitted input to the Government of Canada’s consultation on strengthening federal emergency management. As natural disasters become more frequent and severe, it is important that tourism’s perspective is reflected in how Canada prepares for, responds to, and recovers from emergencies. Our submission highlights the importance of ensuring tourism businesses and destinations are considered in future emergency management planning.
