TIME OF PRAYER FOR UVALDE, TEXAS WEDNESDAY, 6PM

We are all saddened by the events that took the lives of children and adults at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas Tuesday afternoon. It’s times like these that we need to come together and embrace the comfort of our community.

Steve Schibsted, Senior Pastor of Piedmont Community Church, will host a special gathering - a time of prayer - Wednesday evening at the church, 400 Highland Ave., from 6-6:45pm.

All are welcome to attend.
CHURCH NEWS
RESTARTING IS HARD
Support the Putrenkov Family Dinner

By Scott Willis, RTF Chair

The Putrenkov's had a successful, thriving life in southern Ukraine. With the Russian invasion, they left behind their families, a home, car, most of their valuables and escaped with two suitcases.

To restart, their biggest needs are: work they can be successful at, transportation they can count on, and help getting through the asylum process to attain green cards.

Together, we can make these things possible. The Putrenkov Family Dinner will be hosted by Piedmont Community Church on June 4 at 6pm.  Come share horderves and wine in the Courtyard. Dine in Guild Hall on a lovely meal served at your table. Finish with a live auction of a small number of well-curated items.

This is a fundraiser. Tickets are $150 and are available at the church after Sunday service, or online at PiedmontChurch.org/RTF. All are welcome.  Hope to share dinner with you. Thank you!
JUNE 5 IS
CHOIR SUNDAY

On Sunday, June 5, 10am, Stephen Main and the Piedmont Church Choir and string orchestra will present Triptych, by contemporary Moroccan-Irish composer Tarik O’Regan.

This remarkable work explores the themes of death, remembrance, and visionary command, using driving rhythms and contrasting moments of stillness. The string orchestra will also premiere a new piece by Stephen composed for the occasion.
CHURCH BUSINESS
ANNUAL MEETING NOTICE

Our annual church meeting will take place Sunday, June 12 immediately following our 10am worship, or approximately 11am. The meeting will assemble in Guild Hall. Lunch will be provided.

Also, if you have questions regarding church finances, a financial review meeting open to members of the congregation will be held Sunday, June 5 at 11:30am in the Staff Workroom.
PROPOSED BYLAWS CHANGES
By Pat Leicher, Church President

One of the things that we need to vote on at the Annual Meeting on Sunday, June 12 are proposed changes to the bylaws of the church. You can review a red-lined version by clicking on the link below. A red-lined version shows all the changes, additions and deletions.

The most significant change being proposed is allowing 12 to 16 Trustees, as opposed to the fixed historical number of 12. There are times such as the upcoming year when we need to retain the experience of current board members and to bring on some new members to insure continuity in the management of the church.

Most of the other changes are to allow email votes and zoom meetings when appropriate. Before COVID-19, this was not a consideration, but now it is important and sometimes simply convenient for participants.

Special thanks to Bill Molmen, who took the lead on this project.
