Note from the Executive Director

Spring is in the air and with that comes an extra hour of daylight.  Baseball season has begun, flowers are in bloom and schoolchildren are counting down the days until spring break.  April brings us Volunteer Appreciation month.  A time to celebrate all of the men, women and young adults who give selflessly of themselves to do for others.  For TIP, that includes 80 of the most amazing people throughout San Diego who serve more than 30 communities with a population of an estimated 1.5 million people.  TIP volunteers have infinite patience and tenacity; they are eager to learn and must think creatively.  They embody the spirit of caring and giving of themselves.  All are driven by passion and humble in their work.  The key to TIP’s success lies in its volunteers.  Thank you to all of our former and current volunteers for being selfless, generous with your time, energy and heart, and above all, for being a TIP volunteer.

Spring Checklist

“There are not enough words to thank the amazing help that we received from Teresa today in this very difficult moment for my family. When we lost my sister this morning, we were referred to your program by the Oceanside Police. We never knew that your program existed, and it was a blessing for all of us. Teresa knew all the resources we needed to contact with an amazing kindness and full dedication to the job that needed to be done. She was so sweet and kind and respectful. She took time to listen to our feelings and needs and handled the communication with the different aspects of who to call and what to say. Thank you and bless you for offering this service to the people who need it the most.”
