Healing Prayers each Sunday
If you would like to have healing prayers for yourself or through you for a family member or friend, members of the Order of the Daughters of the King or clergy will be available in the back of the Parish Hall near the Bookshoppe to administer healing prayers with laying on of hands and anointing if desired. Just go to the back after you take communion or at the end of the service where they will meet you for prayer.

Are You Getting All of the TIP News?
Because of the length of the TIP newsletter, some email programs cut it mid-way and to see the full document you must click on the indicator or emoji indicated by your email program to expand to the rest of the document (usually located where the TIP cuts off). The TIP ends with the Prayer List, List of Staff and contact footer. If you are not seeing those items, look for the way to fully open and extend this document.

Grace that never ceases to amaze…
Rev. Dorothy
Beloved,
We have walked together through the season of Lent, including Holy Week, and emerged in Easter. As the Great 50 Days of Easter unfold, I am amazed by the grace of the Lord. In recent weeks, decisions were made and sleeves were rolled up as the unexpected was experienced. Through all of our endeavors, God remained faithful by pouring out peace and grace each step of the way.
From our church staff, to the Vestry, to the many volunteers who gave multiple hours, I have witnessed the flow of community that is at the heart of what makes St. George’s Episcopal who she is no matter the challenge. Words can not express the depth of gratitude that I have for you. Our congregation has such a bright future. I give thanks for having come this way to witness the great and unexpected unfolding of grace that occurred due to a time of our displacement from the Nave. And, while I look forward to the coming months, I cannot help but wonder, “Was our disappointment God’s appointment?”
Beloved, I would have served here and left without seeing your hearts had the hardships and the unexpected events not occurred. Now that they have, I am even more convinced that God is doing a great work in this congregation. May we continue to heed the leading of the Holy Spirit as we walk together in prayer, praise, and grace. And, remember, the magnitude of God’s grace should never cease to amaze.
Rev. Dorothy
Interim Rector

The Pem Field Library has been updated and brought online!
Virginia Baird has reorganized our Library to catalog recent gifts and make it even more user-friendly by including a listing of its contents online (https://www.librarycat.org/lib/stgeorgelibrary). The Library employs the Dewey Decimal classification system with the OOO’s starting to your left as you enter the library and continuing clockwise around the room, culminating in the Children’s collection on the far right. The Gibson and Marquis collections have been integrated into the main collection and designated with the initial call letters GIB and MAR respectively. Notes on the Notes
by Stephen Karr
I would like to express my immense gratitude for the people who made the music for Holy Week possible. First, to the Vestry for thinking imaginatively along with the staff in approving our temporary setup. Thanks also to Bill Thorsberg for his flexibility in working out sound needs for most of the week and then connecting us to the professional company that made Easter morning seamless.
The members of Coventry Choir navigated windy and noisy circumstances on the porch with grace and good humor, helping mark the solemnity and joy that always accompany the cycle of Palm Sunday and the Triduum. They rose to challenges that would have been difficult in the more comfortable circumstances of the church, and for that I am grateful.
Sanctifica added its usual touch of panache to our Easter morning services. Immense gratitude goes to interim director Andrew Proctor, who has admirably led the group since Billie Moore's passing in December.
Another important collection of people who make Easter happen for the musicians at St. George's is the group of volunteers who give of their time, treasure and talent to feed us between services. Holy Week and Easter can be taxing, and to have fresh eggs, bacon, breakfast casseroles and pastries waiting for us in the parish hall after the 8:00 service is a welcome delight for the senses. Those people are Nancy Ligon, Jim & Bobbie Wonderly McLaughlin, Anna Ruby, Stan & Glynis Sampson, Barbara Posner, Sara Sullivan and Bill Thorsberg.
Members of Coventry Choir:
Kit Decker, Maria Fasciano*, Helen Morrow, Angela Saunders, Linda Smothers, soprano;
Virginia Baird, Greta Coger, Melissa Cook, Mary Fields, Susan Hailey, Hannah Waldman*, alto;
Kane Bradley Music Assistant, Tom Fields, Perry Pennington, Jahrell Harris, Rohan de Silva II, tenor;
Michael Christopher, Jim Freeman, Randy Nelson, Andrew Proctor, bass.
Members of Sanctifica:
Andrew Proctor, Interim Director;
Rachelle D'Eri, Susie Dugger, Linda Prewitt, flute;
Virginia Baird, Jerry Kircksey, Marion Rossman, June Scrivener, Oscar Townsend, Lucy Van Zandt, clarinet;
Mariah Harris, bass clarinet;
Jahrell Harris, Tisenna Mayes, Roger Pace, saxophones;
Andrew Proctor, horn;
Tom Fields, Chuck Langston, trumpet;
Perry Pennington, Will Ridenhour, trombone;
Wayne Ridenhour, tuba;
Nathan Garner, timpani
Please mark your calendars for June 1 at 2:00 pm. Sanctifica will give its season-ending concert, dedicated to the memory of Billie Moore, under the leadership of Andrew Proctor. Friends of Music will sponsor a reception afterward. We look forward to honoring Billie along with the group he founded, nurtured, and loved so well.

Next Month's St. George's Book Club will Meet Tuesday, May 13
Our May book is The Tobacco Wives by Adele Myers. Maddie, the dressmaker, uncovers evidence of substantial health problems in the town, but in a town where everyone depends on Big Tobacco to survive, she doesn't know who she can trust. Shedding light on the hidden history of women's activism during the post-WWII period, the novel is a deeply human, emotionally satisfying and dramatic novel about the power of female connections and the importance of seeking truth.
We will meet in the Church Library at 7 pm, with a Zoom option available. Bring a drink or munchies to share. If you are on the Book Club email list, you will receive a reminder and login information for joining via the online (Zoom) option. If you would like to join the group, contact Kit Decker at kit.decker@earthlink.net to be put on the email group list for the Book Club to receive announcements and meeting information.
We will be gathering recommendations on books for our 2025-2026 reading year and making our selections at our June meeting.
