Summer Connections: June at TISOH
Summer may bring warmer temperatures to Las Vegas, but it also brings fresh opportunities to strengthen connections across the hospitality community. As the summer semester gained momentum, students continued sharpening their hospitality skills both in and out of the classroom. Beyond campus, June was filled with industry events, professional networking, and meaningful conversations with partners and alumni.
Hospitality is built on relationships, and last month served as a reminder that growth doesn't only happen in the classroom. Every conversation, introduction, and community gathering helps build the connections that shape careers and strengthen our industry.
Stay connected with TISOH as we continue creating opportunities to learn and grow together!

TISOH in the Community: Building Connections Across Las Vegas
TISOH continued to stay engaged throughout the hospitality and events community by participating in several networking and educational events across the valley.
| |
TISOH attended the AIA Las Vegas Mixer, NACE Las Vegas June Mixer, LVHA's Out of the Blue at Starbase, and the Heels & Handshakes event featuring Britt Whalen of La Critique, where attendees explored strategies for balancing career growth with well-being in today's fast-paced hospitality industry held at the F1 Arcade.
The month also included PCMA's "Behind the Curtain: The Future of Business Communication" educational panel, featuring industry leaders Sherrif Karamat, Megan Archambeault, Kristin Green, and Juliana Tkatch. The discussion explored the evolving expectations of workplace communication, mentorship, leadership, and building meaningful relationships across multiple generations.
Whether networking, exchanging ideas, or learning from industry leaders, every event reinforced one thing: hospitality thrives on strong relationships, continuous learning, and community.
| | |
Opportunity Knocks
Throughout the month, TISOH welcomed visits from partners at Terra Events and The Palm Las Vegas, creating opportunities to reconnect, exchange ideas, and strengthen industry partnerships.
Those connections continued at the Hozpitality Group Career Fair, presented in partnership with the Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association. The event brought together TISOH students, alumni, and members of the Las Vegas community with 11 hospitality employers, including Resorts World Las Vegas, MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment, Four Seasons, The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, YES& Companies, Simplicity Services, Travel + Leisure Co., WrkSpot, and more.

TISOH Alumni Spotlight
Last month, TISOH alumna Billie Wilson welcomed the school to Event Smart Technologies, where she and Kacey Kurgansky, Co-Owner and Event Producer, provided a behind-the-scenes tour of the company's warehouse operations. From logistics and inventory management to event technology and production, the visit gave insight into another side of the events industry while showcasing the diverse career paths available to TISOH graduates. Seeing alumni thrive in leadership roles is a reminder that hospitality careers continue to evolve long after graduation.

| | | Join Us for the TISOH Cares Paper Drive | |
It wouldn't be a TISOH summer without a TISOH Cares drive. We are partnering with Innovations International Charter School for a community paper drive in preparation for the new school year. While many back-to-school supply lists include pencils, notebooks, and folders, one item educators consistently say they need most is copy paper.
Paper is an everyday classroom essential. Teachers rely on it to print lesson plans, worksheets, quizzes, classroom activities, permission slips, and learning materials that keep students engaged throughout the school year. From practicing math problems to developing writing skills and completing hands-on assignments, paper remains one of the most frequently used and quickly depleted resources in every classroom.
Every ream donated helps equip teachers with the tools they need to teach effectively while ensuring students have access to the materials that support their learning. Help us make a difference by bringing your donations to TISOH!
