Tutoring and Library Hours
|
Tutoring will now take place in the rooms of the teachers. This is convenient as we have direct access to all of the resources we need to help our students.
-
- Math will be held in room 125 (Ms. Starbuck's room) on Tuesdays and Thursday
- English will be held in room 221 (Mrs. Stephenson's room) on Thursdays
- Social Studies will be held in room 237 (Mr. Godoy's room) on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
- Sciences holds their own tutoring and help daily in their classes.
- If a student needs help with a non-core subject, please send Victor Godoy an email, have them talk to him, and he will get in contact with someone in that department.
Tutoring will be held in those rooms and days from 3-4pm
------------------------------------------------
This year the Library's scheduled hours are:
7:15 - 3:30 Monday through Thursday 7:15 - 3:00 Fridays
Since tutoring will be held in the individual rooms of the tutors, there will not be any extended time on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Spirit Week is Here! Be a part of it by helping the students have a great Homecoming week. TJ's Student Leadership has asked families to support the activities in a few ways.
Monday:
The all school bonfire is scheduled for 9/16 from 7-8pm. Junior class parents will be selling food and drinks to raise money for after-prom activities for the Class of 2021. We need a few parents to help sell at the bonfire.
Friday:
The homecoming football game at All City Field is on 9/20 at 7pm. We need parents to help set up, clean up and sell spirit wear at the game.
Saturday:
The homecoming dance is on 9/21 from 8-11pm. We are looking for a few parents to chaperone the dance and lots of parents to provide goodies for the kids. Non-perishable donations can be dropped off in Mr. Poole's office on Friday. Perishable items can be dropped off just before the dance.

Mental Health and Social/Emotional Tips
|
Did You Know...?
September is suicide prevention month
Suicide
is the 2nd leading cause of death for those ages 10-34
In 2017, 13.3% of the U.S. population aged 12-17 had at least one major depressive episode
At TJ, we teach our students to understand the risk factors, know the warning signs, and how to reach out to a trusted adult if they are worried about themselves or a friend (Signs of Suicide curriculum is taught every year to our incoming 9th grade students during 9th Grade Academy). Reminders of how to ACT (Acknowledge, Care, Tell) are provided throughout the year.
As parents, guardians, and community members-- please review the following page for risk factors, warning signs and what to do if you are worried about your child

Class of 2022 - Sophomores
|
The class of 2022 needs 2-4 additional parents to join parent
Julie Rubin in planning fundraising events. The class of 2022 has two faculty sponsors,
Jillian Gleason and Maggie Kennedy, but parents are needed to work with the staff to plan fundraising activities. Parent sponsors also plan community building activities for the parents of the class of 2022. Each class is expected to raise money needed to host their Prom, After Prom and other activities senior year. The sooner the fundraiser get started, the more choices there will be for events senior year. The time commitment can be as little or as much you can share.
Your involvement in any capacity is important and appreciated. We are successful because of your behind-the-scenes contributions, large and small. It all adds up to a stronger community. An engaged parent body shows our students that we care about them!
