McHugh Construction Estimator Tim Clemmons applies lessons he learned in the military to the construction industry.

On his path to earning a civil engineering degree, retreat wasn’t an option for Tim Clemmons, estimator for Taylor Johnson client McHugh Construction. This personal mantra originated from his days serving in “2/5,” the most decorated battalion in the Marine Corps whose motto is “Retreat, Hell!” When Team TJ learned months ago that Built, The Bluebeam Blog would be profiling veterans working in construction to honor Veterans Day, we tapped McHugh Construction to see if anyone in its ranks fit the bill. Clemmons immediately came to mind, so we connected him with the reporter, resulting in this inspiring story in which Clemmons describes how he applies the Marine Corps mindset of performing every job in every situation to the best of his ability. Thank you to Clemmons and all military personnel who have served – and continue to serve – this country so selflessly.
