With Americans relying on online purchases now more than ever, multifamily owners and operators are pivoting with the times to ensure properties can accommodate the large volume of deliveries residents receive. Ahead of the busy holiday shopping season and the influx of packages it will bring, a reporter with Multifamily & Affordable Housing Business reached out to Taylor Johnson for sources to discuss the latest in package management solutions. We connected her with clients Draper and Kramer, Incorporated, RMK Management Corp. and Wingspan Development Group for commentary. In the resulting article, Draper and Kramer’s Tim Kramer noted the typical number of packages a multifamily building receives in a day can be about 20 percent of the unit count. RMK’s Diana Pittro explained it is critical to tailor a package management system to the demographics of the community – it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution – while Georgia Malone of Wingspan's property management company detailed the emerging need to accommodate perishable deliveries requiring refrigeration.
