Happy New Year! We are delighted to kick off our new year of quality programs with a brand new series of music classes with music therapist Ms. Alicia of TLC Music! She'll start out at Jordan & New Prague on Saturday mornings in January and make around to all our libraries this winter and spring - l ook below for the schedule and links with more info.

Please note:  Libraries are closed Mon 1/20 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day .
Upcoming Happenings

Don't let winter weather keep you at home! Join music therapist Ms. Alicia in these fun and upbeat musical events for kids birth-5 and their grownups (older siblings also welcome). Kids will sing, dance, and play instruments all while increasing developmental skills such as social, cognitive, and motor. 
These music classes will travel around to all our Scott Co Library locations, starting with Jordan and New Prague in January. The classes are free and registration is not required except for Sensory-Friendly classes at Savage. Funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage (Legacy) Amendment.

SCHS Kids Kraft Saturdays
with Rose from the Scott County Historical Society. For kids ages 3 & up with an adult. Rose is making a special visit to selected libraries in January, February, & March and presenting a different theme each month, starting with Join the Band at the Jordan Library on Sat 1/25, 10:30-11:15am
As always, Kids Kraft is free, but in order to ensure that we have enough supplies, we ask participants to register   HERE   or by calling the Scott County Historical Society at 952-445-0378.

Party in the Club! 
Head over to the Prior Lake Library for three fun family events, starting with the Jammie Jam with KidsDance on Saturday, 1/25 from 10:30-Noon!

Readmobile logo
Winter Readmobile Visits 
Weather permitting, the Readmobile will deliver learning, literacy, and fun during both regularly scheduled and special winter visits. Check the Readmobile page for more information and the schedule of public visits!
Readmobile Weather Information: For the safety of our visitors and staff, the Readmobile may cancel site visits during severe weather warnings, advisories, or unsuitable driving conditions (icy or snowy roads). Check the webpage for the latest information.
The Readmobile vehicle and start-up collection were funded by the Diane J. Sachs Trust and a grant from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.

Early Literacy Classes & Storytimes 
Early literacy is what your child needs to know about reading and writing before they learn to read & write. Let the library help develop your child's early literacy skills with the five practices of Talk, Sing, Read, Write, & Play at our Early Literacy classes and storytimes !
WEATHER POLICY: If local schools close due to weather, morning children's events that day are cancelled; call for status of weekend, afternoon, or evening events.

Come make something great! Twice a month we get together to start a project, finish a project, or just talk about what we could build together. Drop in to work with our tools, or bring your project and ask for ideas. This space is meant to be collaborative, instructive, and fun!
