On Sunday, February 28, the Sunday of the joint 301 Faith Partners shared service, the guest speaker at Trinity’s 9 am Adult Forum will be the Executive Director of the Tri-Faith Initiative, Wendy Goldberg. The Tri-Faith Commons is the only place of its kind in the world that brings together a synagogue, church, mosque, and interfaith center on 38-acres in Omaha, Nebraska.
Tri-Faith is a national model and center for interfaith learning, collaboration, and celebration. It’s especially relevant to our own “tri-faith initiative” here at 301 E. Stuart Street (301 Faith Partners) as we seek to find ways to do ministry together while maintaining our own unique identities. Ms. Goldberg will discuss their history, their challenges and successes, and their vision for the future. In addition, there will be time for questions and discussion.
All three, congregations St. Paul’s, Mary of Magdala, and Trinity are encouraged and welcomed to join in for this special event before worship together.

Congregational Meeting, let's make it a celebration! We are looking for pictures for the slide show from the congregation, including what we did at Trinity through the pandemic - but also of our homes and family which have been a sacred space of ministry as much as anywhere else. Please share any pictures you have about the joys from this past year by emailing AMANDA, by March 4! They don't have to be churchy, because who we are is as important as what we do.

Family Housing Network (FHN)
|
|
Mark your calendars for Friday, April 30 for a fun night at the drive in Fort Collins with Family Housing Network, formerly Faith Family Hospitality. This will be family oriented, with dinner provided by a local restaurant, silent auction, and a movie. Look for more info coming soon!
Sherwood House, the transitional housing location for 7 families in the FHN program is finally going to have the construction completed thanks to the Bohemian Foundation! This is the former Crossroads Safehouse on Sherwood Street. It will house 7 families in 7 separate units that need extra time to get their feet underneath them in order to be sustainable in housing. The grant from Bohemian is $300,000 and $50,000 from Peak Community Church. After receiving the funds, it will take approximately 3-4 months to complete. God is good!

LuMin Mid-Week Streaming/Worshiping with Congregations:
Each Wednesday evening during Lent, LuMin will be hosting a streaming service on the back porch for the students to come worship together, while physically distancing with masks. Each week, LuMin will be watching a different congregation's service. As part of this Lent worshiping, LuMin is providing Covid-Safe soup suppers for the students. Trinity donated a Spoons gift card to LuMin for us in one of their Wednesday Evening Soup Suppers.

Beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 17, we invite YOU, our faith partners, as well as our literal neighbors in the neighborhood of 301 E. Stuart Street, to participate in a “Lenten Community Reflection and Prayer” art installation on the grounds of 301 Faith Partner’s Property. This interactive art installation invites anyone and everyone to reflect upon the changes, the challenges, the gifts and the insights this pandemic has brought about in our lives. It also invites us to offer our prayers and insights collectively to God.
This Lenten community reflection and prayer project will take place on the fence surrounding the playground to the south of the church building. This location was chosen with the hopes that it might draw in our neighbors passing across our property as well as those walking east on the Spring Creek Trail, to view and possibly participate.
There are several opportunities to engage:
-
First, through the creation of a prayer chime. Anyone interested is invited to take the materials provided to put together a visual representation of their prayers by creating a prayer chime with ribbon, colored beads and bells. Each bead represents a person or issue being prayed for and the bell at the end of the ribbon will provide an audible sound reminding all who pass by of our collective prayers offered to God.
-
Second, there will be balsa wood forms for people to write on what they have lost and what they have gained during this time of pandemic, and then to hang on the fence along with the lost and found of others.
-
Finally, a variety of local artists will be displaying their own creative representations to mark the experiences this time has brought about in their lives.
Beginning on Ash Wednesday, we invite you to come, to engage and to offer your own creative reflection and prayers as we together walk through this Lenten Season of 2021.

Did You Know About "Kans for Kids"? If you ever are in the east parking lot at Trinity down toward Spring Creek, you may have noticed a large square cage/container for recycling of aluminum cans with the label Kans for Kids. This is a program that began over 20 years ago thanks to Colorado Iron & Metal. The purpose is to raise money for our youth program. In 2020 CI&M paid Trinity $106.90 for 323 lbs. of cans which they picked up in June and October.
Recycling of aluminum cans is a very direct way to save energy in the can manufacturing process and we should recycle every can we use. When you are traveling to Trinity or vicinity, bring your aluminum cans and load them in the top of the container. If we can increase our recycling of cans at church we will be helping the environment and our youth at the same time, a win-win!

TLC Book Group will next meet via Zoom at 9:30 am on Monday, March 1, to discuss The Undocumented Americans by Karla Cornejo Villavicencio. The author herself is among the first undocumented immigrants to graduate from Harvard, and she writes about undocumented workers who cleaned up after the 9/11 attacks; who drank contaminated water in Flint, Michigan; and who struggle as they age. Questions? Call Nadine Hunt at 970-825-3730.

Pastor Rick needs help! No, this is not redundant, he just needs a lot of help. Who wants to make a pie for LuMin Pie (Pi) Day, March 14? The fanciest pie from Trinity will be put up against the others in this competition, but all donated pies will be auctioned to benefit Lutheran Campus Ministry at CSU. Click HERE to email Pastor Rick, if you are willing and able to bake a pie.

When does weather cancel church?
Trinity does not have an official cancellation policy, but the rule of the thumb that leadership has agreed upon is that weekly church events will be canceled when Poudre School District delays or cancels events. On the weekends, worship will not be canceled. As always, use your best judgment in poor weather conditions, and know that you are still loved by God if you miss Bible Study, Choir, or Worship. We will post cancellations to our website, facebook page, and a mass email to all of you.
