You Do What? Spiritual Practice in Times of Crisis; Part 2
March 4 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm FREE
In Part Two of our program, “You Do What? Spiritual Practice in Times of Crisis”, we ask five leaders of diverse spiritual affiliations to share with us the practices that sustain them in times of turmoil, and inspire their engagement in meaningful work on behalf of the world.
Viviane Ephralsom-Abt is Dharmacharya with the Plum Village Community of Engaged Buddhism; Makhana-cora das (Mac McGoldrick) is affiliated with the Radha Krishna Temple in Denver and is a faculty member in Philosophy and Religious Studies Department at Colorado State University; Christine Dianni is with the Religious Society of Friends, a Quaker; Dr. Doreen E Martinez is an Associate Professor at Colorado State University and is of Mescalero, Apache, and Pennsylvania Dutch lineage; and Dr. Melanie Rosa is Lead Pastor at First United Methodist Church in Fort Collins.
In their thoughtful and honest conversation they will offer us windows into themselves and their traditions — which may just provide us new ways of understanding ourselves.

“Hispanic Community Voices: The Impact of Covid-19”
Thursday, March 25, 7 pm (Zoom link released soon)
A documentary by producer Betty Aragon. Join us for a virtual screening of the documentary followed by Q&A session with Betty Aragon. “The documentary was produced by Fort Collins advocate Betty Aragon-Mitotes and directed, filmed and edited by Fort Collins filmmaker Shari Due of Be Reel Pictures.”
“Using interviews conducted in August, “2020 Hispanic Community Voices: The Impact of Covid-19” details the effects of the pandemic on Larimer county’s Hispanic residents, according to Due.” -Erin Udell, Fort Collins Coloradoan, January 28, 2021
Moving Forward After watching the documentary, you are invited to participate in a work session on Thursday, April 8 at 7 pm via Zoom to brainstorm ideas on how the 301 Faith Partners can help the Hispanic residents of Larimer County. We will focus on a collaboration with ISAAC - Interfaith Solidarity and Accompaniment Coalition, as each 301 Faith Partner church is a member of the ISAAC Coalition of Faith Communities. https://isaacnoco.org/about-isaac.

Help Us Complete the Stations of the Cross
|
|
Last year we began fourteen Stations of the Cross which we were going to use during Holy Week. Then the Pandemic hit. We would like to finish coloring and decorating these Stations in order to have an outdoors prayer time with them on Good Friday this year. We would like people to adopt one and either finish it or just work on it for a week and pass it along. Each congregation of the 301 Faith Partners has been given a few. You can do whatever you’d like with the poster, whatever inspires you — paint, collage, yarn, crayons, markers — whatever. Make it a family project if you’d like, or a personal meditation. If this interests you, please email Deacon KATIE to arrange to come pick up a poster. Thanks!

As COVID-19 is on the rise, we want to remind everyone of a few things. First, if you are in need (prayers, food, money, etc), please reach out; as a family of faith, we are here to help one another and we have a great network of people who have offered support. If you have tested positive, please let someone in the office know, we would like to hold you in extra prayer and support you through this. If you have tested positive, have been exposed (or possibly exposed), or are living with someone who has been exposed, please do not come into the church building, even if you are there alone. And anytime you are in the building, please wear a mask. This helps keep the staff and all those using the building as safe as possible.

Congregational Meeting, let's make it a celebration! We are looking for pictures for the slide show from the congregation, including what we did at Trinity through the pandemic - but also of our homes and family which have been a sacred space of ministry as much as anywhere else. Please share any pictures you have about the joys from this past year by emailing AMANDA, by March 4! They don't have to be churchy, because who we are is as important as what we do.

Family Housing Network (FHN)
|
|
Mark your calendars for Friday, April 30 for a fun night at the drive in Fort Collins with Family Housing Network, formerly Faith Family Hospitality. This will be family oriented, with dinner provided by a local restaurant, silent auction, and a movie. Look for more info coming soon!
Sherwood House, the transitional housing location for 7 families in the FHN program is finally going to have the construction completed thanks to the Bohemian Foundation! This is the former Crossroads Safehouse on Sherwood Street. It will house 7 families in 7 separate units that need extra time to get their feet underneath them in order to be sustainable in housing. The grant from Bohemian is $300,000 and $50,000 from Peak Community Church. After receiving the funds, it will take approximately 3-4 months to complete. God is good!

We invite YOU, to participate in a “Lenten Community Reflection and Prayer” art installation on the grounds. This Lenten community reflection and prayer project will take place on the fence surrounding the playground to the south of the church building.
There are several opportunities to engage:
-
First, through the creation of a prayer chime. Anyone interested is invited to take the materials provided to put together a visual representation of their prayers by creating a prayer chime with ribbon, colored beads and bells. Each bead represents a person or issue being prayed for and the bell at the end of the ribbon will provide an audible sound reminding all who pass by of our collective prayers offered to God.
-
Second, there will be balsa wood forms for people to write on what they have lost and what they have gained during this time of pandemic, and then to hang on the fence along with the lost and found of others.
-
Finally, a variety of local artists will be displaying their own creative representations to mark the experiences this time has brought about in their lives.

TLC Book Group will next meet via Zoom at 9:30 am on Monday, April 5, the day after Easter to discuss Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson. Her thesis is that the US has a caste system in which a person’s place in society is determined by skin color and ancestry. Questions? Call Nadine Hunt at 970-825-3730.

Pastor Rick needs help! No, this is not redundant, he just needs a lot of help. Who wants to make a pie for LuMin Pie (Pi) Day, March 14? The fanciest pie from Trinity will be put up against the others in this competition, but all donated pies will be auctioned to benefit Lutheran Campus Ministry at CSU. Click HERE to email Pastor Rick, if you are willing and able to bake a pie.

When does weather cancel church?
Trinity does not have an official cancellation policy, but the rule of the thumb that leadership has agreed upon is that weekly church events will be canceled when Poudre School District delays or cancels events. On the weekends, worship will not be canceled. As always, use your best judgment in poor weather conditions, and know that you are still loved by God if you miss Bible Study, Choir, or Worship. We will post cancellations to our website, facebook page, and a mass email to all of you.
