Happy Holidays
Everyone at the Transplant Life Foundation and Transplant Games of America wishes all of you a beautiful and happy holiday season. While the COVID-19 crisis has impacted an entire world and we continue to battle this terrible virus, there is reason to be joyful. The recent approval and launch of two vaccines, with others very likely coming soon, has brought comfort and hope to many of us. In addition, this week’s passing of the Immuno Bill is an unbelievable gift to the transplant community.
In other news, we have been continuing to plan for next summer’s Transplant Games at the Meadowlands, NJ and we are confident that the Games will be a tremendous success. Early next year we will relaunch our team manager webinars, and will continue to provide updates on our planning for the Games. In the meantime, use this holiday season to keep your loved ones in your hearts and minds. Best wishes,
-The Transplant Life Foundation

COVID-19 Transplant Community Vaccine Webinar
The approval of COVID-19 vaccines has brought with it hope, excitement, and a long list of questions. Results from a recent survey have indicated that our community is split on whether or not to get the vaccine.
To ensure you have the information you need, the COVID-19 Transplant Community Coalition is planning our second live webinar and will be discussing COVID-19 vaccines. The event is scheduled to take place on January 26, 2021 and will feature a well rounded panel of leading experts including representation from the NIH and the CDC along with a practicing physician and patient advocate.

TransplantNATION Needs your Photos!
Athletes and Teams
The photo spread in the upcoming issue of TransplantNATION will highlight athletes and teams. Send us a photo of you with some of your TGA team members, with your golf or tennis partner, or just a photo of you doing the sport you love (action or other!). The photo you submit using the link below may appear in the photo spread in the February issue of TransplantNATION.
TGA Training
We know many of you have been working hard training for the upcoming Transplant Games in New Jersey, July 16-21, 2021. And with many gyms, sports facilities and parks closed due to COVID-19, staying fit has been more challenging than ever. Be patient, there are still 7 months left to train. In the meantime, send us a picture of you training and some details on your training strategy, partner, or goals so we can share it with others. To submit information to be used for TransplantNATION or Transplant Life Foundation social media, use the following link.
Unique Medal Stories
It is easy to understand why Transplant Games athletes covet their hard-earned medals. However, you would be surprised how many stories the Transplant Life Foundation staff has heard of athletes recognizing someone else by giving them their prize possession - medal. This gesture sometimes occurs at the Games or when athletes return home, and in some cases medals may even be sent to someone far away, special delivery! If you have an exceptional story regarding giving one of your TGA medals to someone special, please share it for potential use in TransplantNATION or Transplant Life Foundation social media, via the link below.

Passages
TransplantNATION magazine’s Passages page pays tribute to many milestones reached by individuals in our community. We intend to share news of births, marriages, anniversaries, transplant anniversaries, deaths, and any other significant announcements that celebrate the gift of life or acknowledge the support an individual(s) has given to the organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation world.
If you have a tribute you would like to share in an upcoming Passages page, please send your information (75 words or less) to Josh Sweedyk at
