A Day in the Life


Responsibilities may include work in the following areas and other duties may be assigned.


  • Work with the Content, Channel and Creative team to develop compelling corporate/brand stories, graphics and multimedia that support integrated, cross-functional campaigns .  
  • Work with the Corporate Communications team to earn favorable media coverage and respond to potential issues or threats to our company’s image/reputation.
  • Work with our CEO Communications team to raise the visibility of Medtronic’s CEO internally and externally, supporting speaking events, executive videos, social media and other high-profile channels.
  • Work with the Corporate Marketing and Impact Communications team to support targeted marketing campaigns that increase brand awareness and amplify the societal impact of our company’s purpose-driven work.
  • Work with our Data, Insights and Performance Marketing team to build an in-depth understanding of our brand, audiences and themes that influence brand impact for Medtronic globally, applying data analytics to priorities and decisions.
  • Work with our Global Brand and Digital Experience team to enable brand experiences that generates trust, excitement, and confidence with our external stakeholders.
  • Partner with Operating Unit Communications Business Partners to support the integrated communications plan to enhance business impact through brand and reputation specific to a business or disease state.


Qualifications


MUST HAVE:

To be considered for a summer 2024 GCCM Internship, you must meet the following basic qualifications. To be considered for a position, clearly indicate how you meet these criteria on your resume.


  • Undergraduate student with junior or senior level standing.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related major based on your school’s degree offerings.
  • Candidates applying for Medtronic’s Summer Internship Program must have current work authorization and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. The Medtronic Summer Internship Program does not provide work authorization sponsorship for summer intern positions. Product Marketing Manager Intern

  • Begins to compile and evaluate market intelligence and customer data to identify opportunities and define strategies for customer acquisition, adoption, and renewal of a product and/or solution; uses insights to story tell.

Market Research Manager

The Position

We are seeking an Account Coordinator to join our Technology Practice. This is an entry level position where you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the PR industry and best practices in client service, media relations and content development.


You will be responsible for developing a curated media lists of reporters that cover client and industry-specific news, issues and announcements, while also conducting regular news monitoring to share trending stories the account team can leverage for clients. You will also develop influencer and media relationships, pitch media to secure press opportunities, track coverage, and support overall account management and administration with weekly meeting agendas, action items and reports.


What You’ll Do

  • Participate in team and client calls and provide thorough notes and action items to move deliverables forward every week.
  • Develop the first draft of written content (e.g., press release, briefing books, media pitches, bylines).
  • Monitor and flag client and industry media coverage for the account team.
  • Conduct entry-level media relations with instruction from AE/SAE; pitching news announcements and conducting follow up via phone and email.

Opportunity

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • General research responsibilities include producing thoughtful research and analyses on strategic topics involving clients, media, industries, and trends
  • Maintain media lists for client teams
  • Assist with creating/editing presentations and client work product

Real Work Experience

Prosek Apprentices will:


  • Develop a strong knowledge of the media landscape by building media lists, pitching and establishing relationships with journalists.
  • Become an expert in reading and analyzing news trends and developing timely pitch angles
  • Write content (messaging, press releases and pitches) to propel your clients' brands.
  • Take an owner's role in every element of account execution by keeping track of action items, taking thorough notes during internal and client calls and tracking the team's progress as it relates to media opportunities and progress across projects.
  • Become a master researcher by participating in the business development process.
