Communications Associate Manager - Commercial and Global Military, Sikorsky

The Communications Manager for Sikorsky’s Commercial and Global Military Systems & Services will report to the Sikorsky Senior Manager of Strategic Communications and oversee all aspects of Sikorsky’s commercial and global military strategic communications for internal and external audiences. The manager will develop and implement strategic communications plans that market Sikorsky’s products and customer service.

This is a very diverse position that affords the opportunity to touch every aspect of communications including media relations, executive communications, crisis communications, internal communications, social and digital media, event and trade show communication planning.

The ideal candidate will build strong relationships within the organization, leverage capabilities and expertise across the communications enterprise, collaborate, plan and coordinate across functions to develop and execute integrated communications plans that drive business goals and international growth strategies. The right candidate will have a strong foundation in public relations, strategic communications, international communications, brand reputation management, aerospace industry experience and be confident, decisive and proactive in providing strategic communications advice and counsel to executives, senior leaders, customers, industry organizations, suppliers and employees.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Developing and executing multifaceted communications campaigns, strategies and tactics to support business objectives in domestic and international markets.
  • Providing strategic counsel to the Vice President of Commercial Systems and Services and commercial and sustainment executive leaders and providing oversight for Global Military strategic communications. Drive development and implementation of communications initiatives that promote Sikorsky’s commercial and international aircraft, products, support, services and long term business growth.
  • Drafting communications products including communications plans, talking points, speeches, scripts, press releases, media briefings, internal memos, etc.
  • Lead a team of three direct reports responsible for Global Military Systems & Services, Coatesville operations and Associated Aircraft Group.
  • Staying attuned to communications trends and tools in the industry and competitor actions and provide ideas and recommendations to drive and effect change.

Superior managerial experience, proven leadership, broad communications skills and crisis communications experience with strong writing and editing ability, including AP style. Experience in developing and executing integrated strategic communications plans to include both internal and external key stakeholders. Knowledge of and experience with social, digital and new media programs, tools and resources. Ability to effectively lead, manage and follow in complex, matrixed, functionalized organizations. An Account Coordinator is primarily focused on tactical execution under direct supervision of senior team members. This person is expected to:
