Be The Change!

National Kidney Month

Over 95,000 individuals are currently waiting for a kidney transplant in the United States. The Transplant Life Foundation and Transplant Games of America are committed to bringing this information to light and spreading awareness to be an organ, eye and tissue donor. In a recent Facebook post about National Kidney Month, we managed to do just that! The Facebook post below had a reach of over 145,000 and 2,300 shares. This is a fantastic accomplishment in the social media world. We were able to get this message out to hundreds of thousands of people, emphasizing the great need that exists.
Did You Know This About Bone Marrow?

At any given time, there are approximately 7,500 patients waiting for a bone marrow transplant. With only 2% of the U.S. population on the Bone Marrow Registry, there is a significant opportunity for many of us to consider making a difference. Donating bone marrow is safe: more than 35,000 people have donated bone marrow to a stranger without a single donor death. Get the facts and more information at www.bethematch.org
April is Donate Life Month

April will be upon us soon, bringing National Donate Life Month with it! There are over 113,000 people currently waiting for a lifesaving organ. Every 10 minutes another person is added to the waiting list. Twenty people die each day because time ran out. You can help make a difference by signing up for the National Donate Life Registry. Sign up today to be an organ, eye and tissue donor at www.RegisterMe.org. Help us celebrate Donate Life Month by sending us a picture of you in your “Blue & Green!” These pictures will be used in a special photo spread in the fifth issue of TransplantNATION magazine. Follow the link below to submit your photos. Photo DEADLINE is April 19, 2019.

Transplant Games Updates!

Transplant Warrior News
Simon Keith, Chief Operating Officer for Nevada Donor Network underwent successful heart and kidney transplant surgery this weekend. A former professional soccer player, Simon has long been a hero of the Transplant Games of America and has led the charge nationally in support of donation and transplantation. Simon was our master of ceremonies at the 2018 Transplant Games in Salt Lake City. While Simon recovers from surgery, please keep the Keith family in your thoughts and prayers along with his donors and donor families.
2020 DONOR TRIBUTE CEREMONY

Be sure to mark your calendar for the 2020 Donor Tribute Ceremony which will be held at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark on Sunday, July 19, 2020.  NJPAC is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States and is home to the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. More than 9 million visitors have visited the center since it opened in October 1997.
A TRANSPLANT GAMES APP IS IN THE WORKS

Development is underway to launch a new Transplant Games APP for the 2020 Meadowland's Games. The APP will launch in July of 2019 as part of the “One Year Out” celebration. You will be able to get up to the minute news about events and planning for the upcoming Donate Life Transplant Games.

Transplant Life Foundation and Transplant Games of America would like to thank you for your support of our mission. The work that we do to educate the public and bring awareness about donation and transplantation would not be possible without your help and commitment.
