Giving Tuesday
We have one week until Giving Tuesday! The Transplant Life Foundation (TLF) is raising funds this Giving Tuesday, December 3, for our Travel Grant Program, which provides Team members with limited financial assistance for a number of qualified individuals to attend the 2020 Donate Life Transplant Games in New Jersey from July 17-22.
The Transplant Games provide an opportunity for everyone in the donation and transplant community to participate in the largest gathering of recipients, donor families, living donors, caregivers, and professionals. Travel expenses can be a tremendous burden for many, and we anticipate these costs to be higher than normal in 2020. With your help, all proceeds from this year’s Giving Tuesday, will be set aside in a fund to support our Travel Grant Program. All qualified registrants will have the opportunity to apply for a travel grant and awards will be based on need. Your generous gift on December 3rd will allow many in our community to support this important effort. Travel grant awards of
$1,000 will help offset the cost of registration fees, lodging, travel, meals and miscellaneous expenses.

Competition Information
Leading up to the Transplant Games in July 2020, we will be featuring one to two sports in the newsletter. Our goal will be to highlight important rules, provide updates on any changes to the format, as well as increase interest in the competition. When registering for the Games, be sure to review each of the sports you will be participating in for final decisions on competition rules.
Swimming
The swimming competition at the Transplant Games is one of the most popular events. With 31 events over two days, the swimming competition challenges a growing number of athletes during the Games. Swimming will take place at the Berkeley Aquatic Club in New Providence, NJ. This nationally known facility has the experience and expertise to manage and host a swim competition. Our swimmers will have access to a professional competition pool as well as an adjacent warm-up pool. Scoring and reporting systems are professional grade and we are confident that this facility and it’s team of professionals will create a competition that will make all of us proud. We do not anticipate any changes to the competition rules, but we will enforce existing rules that include scheduled breaks throughout the competition in order to award medals to qualifying athletes.

If you have a tribute you would like to share in an upcoming Passages page, please send your information (35-75 words or less) to Josh Sweedyk at

Transplant Life Foundation and Transplant Games of America would like to thank you for your support of our mission. The work that we do to educate the public and bring awareness about donation and transplantation would not be possible without your help and commitment.
