It is my sincere honor and pleasure to serve as President of the TMA Chicago/Midwest Chapter for 2024. I am humbled by the Chapter entrusting me with the opportunity to lead us forward in 2024 and to continue building upon the successes of our predecessors. I specifically want to thank Kat Parker of HyperAMS, under whom I served as President-Elect, and who set a high bar for us to meet this year.
As many of you already know, our theme for this year is “Success through Service.” I want each of us to take this to heart in 2024 (as many of you already have!) and maintain our focus on how three pillars of service—to clients, others, and ourselves—are the foundation for our professional, personal, and collective success. As the new vice president of communications for our chapter, it’s my pleasure to bring you the first TMA Chicago/Midwest newsletter of 2024. This year our chapter President, Jack O’Connor, has challenged us to create “Success Through Service” – to clients, others and to ourselves. Our Communications committee, which includes Heidi Hockberger, Mark Silverman, and Michael Boyer, is already hard at work to communicate this message in various ways. As we enter the 100-day range of this chapter year, let’s ask ourselves how we can each use this theme to make 2024 a memorable year. Continue...

February 29: Cheers to Peers! Martini Party' Success
By Akash Amin, MorrisAnderson
| The TMA Chicago Annual Martini Event at the RPM Event space was a great success and only keeps getting better each year! TMA Chicago/Midwest had a record turnout this year with over 250 registrants and attendees – the most attendees the event has had in over 10 years. The combination of great company, delicious seafood, and martinis proved to be a pleasant oasis for the city’s industry leaders. The event noticeably had many new faces as well as familiar ones in addition to TMA members from other chapters flying in to attend the event. We look forward to another spectacular event next year! | | |

March 15: NextGen Bulls Event Another Slam Dunk
By Joe Ford, Wintrust
| For the third year in a row, TMA NextGen Chicago/Midwest took its talents to the United Center to take in some Bulls basketball. After another sold-out year, the NextGen Bulls event is establishing itself as a premier event on the NextGen calendar. In total, 40 NextGen members, as well as TMA leadership – special shoutout to TMA Midwest/Chicago President, Jack O’Connor, for showing his support – gathered at the United Center to kick off St. Patrick’s Day weekend in style. While the product on the court was less than stellar, the lively atmosphere created by the NextGen members in attendance certainly made up for it… and the dessert cart of course. The NextGen Committee appreciates the continued support of the board to make this event possible, and we look forward to hosting the fourth iteration of the event next year! | | | | | |
